Well, no viewing of Saturn for us tonight. It is raining like crazy.

Great big welcome to all the new team mates. Thanks for joining us! You have jumped on board just in time to catch the team at it's Lun-iest. Have fun!

Welcome to the new loonies, and look after yourself Lefty! (Glad the recovery is solid, even if it isn't as quick as you'd like... I know that feeling well!)
Lots of great erging going on the boards here... sorry I am not around more often.
So much happening at work this month, and then when I thought I would have some time on the weekend, my wonderful wife threw me a surprise 50th party in the city with all the trimmings... no chance of a stray meter on Saturday or Sunday!

Cheers,
Dave

WRC: Thru Day 7

http://www.comcast.net/video/hundreds-f ... 1446939926 (Sorry for the 20 sec American commercial before the volcano video starts) As volatile as the first week of WRC!

Iceland is on my list of places to bike (if they can just do something about all those headwinds...)and maybe without the volcano erupting on the glacier....what a great contrast in elements....

And at the top of the individual leaderboard for the WRC....it's the battle of the sexes?!

1 Darlene Brennan Age Without Limits F 350,296
2 Bart Valgaeren LUNA-TICS M 350,000

The end of the first week of the WRC finds the LunaTics team in fourth place overall with 59 crew aboard the good ship LunaTics. We are ever mindful that the rankings can change in the blink of an eye - and delighted to have such a great team! Thanks for all the contributions to the team meter piggy bank!

50000m a day is hell!
Yesterday I played my worst golf game of my life. Something was blocking my back to turn, I presume the meters I rowed the days before.
The good news is only 24 days to go for the WRC.... and then the last 15 days of April will be piece of cake.

Imagine my chagrin. I last rowed, or even contemplated rowing, sometime in early February. Did something to my back, and have been out for about six weeks. I used to marvel at folks who sat just short of a milestone for what seemed like forever. I now know one reason it can happen.

Great Rowing Bart! You definitively are setting a challenging pace for all Challenge participants! May the Luna-Tic Force Be With You through your long and lonely row to triumph!

WRC: Thru Day 8

Post by Kona2 » March 23rd, 2010, 10:50 am

Image Image We are rockin and rowin - and have added two more rock stars to the team! Crew roster = 61. Eight more days to hop aboard the lunar shuttle as part of the WRC!

The start of day 9 finds the team in fourth place overall - ever mindful that volatility and ginormous meter postings can, do and will occur (sometimes by our own crew!). Our man Bart from Belgium has regained the top of the WRC leaderboard - and Will S, our man in Iraq, is in the top ten as well! Darlene of Age Without Limits is hanging in there (go girl go!). We rowed a LOTTA meters yesterday - blew right through the top of the graph, so had to change the axis! Afterburners were lit!
GREAT!
