I haven't been online for a few days, so thank you, Jim, for giving me the heads up about being one of the March Madness winners!! I came down with a cold this past weekend, but made myself do my current minimum (10,000) each day. My stats didn't show that I rowed slowly, but it sure felt that it was more difficult. The high altitude is hard enough on my asthma, but chest colds are really annoying.

I agree with Karen that you're a winner for showing up at the event and completing the 7 miles. When we don't reach our personal goals, though, it can be disappointing for the moment. But then we look at what might have gone wrong, make adjustments, and move on to try again or create another goal. I read somewhere that Thomas Edison tried 10,000 different experiments before he came up with his light bulb. When you're ready, let us know about your next goal and event.

About the panic attacks, add me to the list (the book, Don't Panic, was helpful to me several years ago). I still hate to ride in elevators, and you should have seen me go down into a cave near Mt. Rushmore a few years ago! I did it, but it was tough! My family has some very funny pictures showing how poorly I handle the rocking Ferris Wheel at Disneyland, too. Talk about vertigo!

I was very sorry to hear about the young man who passed away at the marathon event. Life is fragile. That's why we have to make the most of every day.

WOOT!!! March Madness is kicking my arse, but the meters sure are piling up! I gave up trying to do intervals for the 5000 meters/day... my legs were just getting too tired. Now I've settled in to a nice casual row each morning. I've missed two days so far, will miss a couple next week when I travel for business, and that will leave me two more days I can miss for whatever reason until the end of the month. This challenge is one of the harder ones I think!
