Hiya and welcome. I've never met an allycat that I didn't like ... in fact, I have two sweeties sitting hopefully on my front porch who can probably smell the tuna I just opened for lunch ...

I don't row too many meters - YET- but it's getting better all the time, so I want to contribute/be accountable to a team. I'm recovering from a shoulder injury due to an auto accident; the rower was purchased with part of my settlement check, lol. My physical therapist is a rower, and he finally convinced me this is the way to go for weight loss/general fitness. Looking forward to rowing with you all! :D

Welcome, Ally...nice to have you on board!
And congrats to all for many Luny milestones achieved.

And a big Thank You for everyone's tips on injury prevention, grip and elbow positioning, way back in January. It helped...and I'm back in the sliding seat again.

Cheers,
MT :D

Welcome aboard Ally! We are happy to accept any meter contributions, but you may just find that you'll surprise yourself. I find the Lunatics very motivating and inspirational leading to more meters erged. Just don't push it too much with your injury. We want you healthy!

Set reasonable goals...it's a long challenge!

Our virtual rowing season has reached the penultimate stage with the start of the WRC. Since the March Madness Challenge started two weeks ago, the WRC effectively creates a six week long challenge. Overall, the rowing season builds up to this intensity - which is fine if everyone starts at the same time! But we don't. So, a word of caution as you set your personal goals for this challenge: if you start to get twinges where you didn't used to have them, check your form, REST, and make sure you have a good foundational rowing meter base for the kinds of goals you've set for yourself. Concept2's website offers some excellent training information - and, if memory serves, the suggestion is generally to increase your meter totals by 1,000 m at a time, or a ten percent increase in your weekly totals. We've still got a lot of meters to go on our lunar mission - and injuries are no fun.

BaZzy,

Way to get us started in the WRC. Bart and Will nice follow up to a great beginning.

I need to come up with a different plan. It took 2 hrs to make 15K today, and that my friends is depressing. I am totally over adaptive rowing.

Wowzer, Gina - I never would have picked that math gem out of the stats....especially not on the Monday after DST begins. Clever, though!

And Lefty Dan - you will so appreciate being an able-bodied rower! I am amazed (but delighted) that you keep pushing onward. Maybe 10K is a good number. Either that, or you better get the movie list from our movie maven Minnie.

Congratulations on some fine rowing today everyone! We need to celebrate while we can because there are some sharks out there in the virtual waters.

Thanks, a little time poorer today, so not as many metres unfortunately.

But let me say this, firstly GO THE LEFTIES (Tomo and I are lefties!)... Phew....now that is off my chest, I must add that the fact that you are willing to put in 2 hours of effort is inspiring to say the very least...and I'm sure I speak for all the Lunies when I say that..... And I can appreciate your frustration......but you, my friend, are truly leading the way...... :!:

Cheers BBB
