All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 3.04.10

ImageImage Gather ye shamrocks while ye may......hop on that erg and crank out 5 or 10K today - there's still time to be included on the Progress Board! Tomorrow is the last day to commit! The tough part is hanging on to that board ranking. March Madness says row at least 25 days - that leaves SIX "take a day off of rowing free" cards for the month. We are sooooo driven by the lure of freebies - 4700 people on the boards currently.....how will that change? Tracking starts tomorrow!

World Rowing Challenge!!! March 15 - April 15th

Sign up on your teams page in your online logbook for the World Rowing Challenge! And, if you've never been certified as a Luna-Tic and want to row with us, select the Luna-Tics as your team of choice. Deadline for signing up is April 1st.

Meanwhile, east of the asteroid belt, a meteor storm is brewing. The World Rowing Challenge starts on March 15th - just 9 or 10 days from today depending on which side of the IDL you happen to live on. What's at stake? World rowing dominance? Head of the leaderboard? Fame and fortune?! This challenge is billed as the one challenge that creates a level rowing field for all kinds of teams, and like rowing gladiators in the green dust of space, we'll duke it out with the other teams. So, while you are busily gathering your shamrocks, you'll also be earning some team meters in the World Rowing Challenge...at least for the first half of the WRC!

Season meters as of 308/365 = 96,706,986 m

Total meters on the day = 284,400 m

Oars in space (participation) = 22 percent

Somewhere someone's singing "Oh Danny Boy"....it's March after all!

I am sure that we will see the return of Wild Bill to defend the flag! Image And maybe Kiba will emerge from her secret mountain geological laboratory with a boatload of meters....in the meantime, the suspense builds and the competitors draw closer.....

Image Hooyah! That pot of gold is gleaming for the 29 Luna-Tics (thus far) who are participating in the March Madness Challenge!! May the lucky leprechaun choose your name in the prize arena!

Season meters as of 310/365 = 97,093,474 m

Total meters on the day = 170,073 m

Oars in space (participation) = 13 percent

MILESTONES....Bragging Rights....Celebrations:

3.0 MM Tim P
1.7 MM Peter G
200K G-l-o-r-i-a

Image Image Andre with a fine update of 35,348 m earns a half moon
Image Image Minnie with half marathon # 207

And thanks to all today's crew for all the kinds of meters...we celebrate each and every one of them!

Tony ImageImageImageImage m
ImageG-l-o-r-i-aImage ImageImageImageImage m It's 5 oclock somewhere....
AJ 5,574 m
Peter G 6,000 m
Steven L 7,173 m
Mike C 10,000 m
Steven D 10,000 m
Tim 10,000 m

Will S 13,027 m
Darryl 14,236 m
Baz 16,103 m
Chris 21,097 m
Andre 35,348 m

Numbers captured, but posting delayed by snowshoe outing ....there I was in the queue at the "dog" loop....two retrievers bounding waaaay ahead. The base is rapidly melting (so were we in snowpants, etc.), so was probably the last snowshoe event of the season. Grand Lake Golf Course becomes Grand Lake Nordic Center in the winter!

Kona2 - Great photo and it looks like your snow base is still in very good shape. The snow base around Duluth has taken a big hit from the last week with sun and 40F's. I can now expect to pull up to an intersection and actually see traffic because of greatly receding snowbanks. It is very doubtful that this Moose will have any more ski meters this season, unless a big snow storm hits us soon. Mooose

Wow, I have not been able to check in here in awhile, and look at all the major milestones, and a facelift to boot!

I just updated Ben's and my logbooks with multiple days of meters. I think we missed too many days already to make the March challenge. :( That's what I get for not paying attention. Why is it that the older you get, the faster the days zip by?

Wowzer, mates! With one week of the March Madness Challenge under the ergs, the crew gets into a shamrock collection frenzy and participation is on the rise as visions of freebie Concept2 gear hover over the crew....Kaptn Kris worries that she may have missed the window for certification....but fear not and aye aye! You can still do this, Ben and Kris - you just have to row at least 5K for all the rest of the March days!!

Image March Madness Challenge: 32 Luna-Tics on the boards....can they row to the finish?!!

Season meters as of 311/365 = 97,558,906 m

Total meters on the day = 465,432 m

Oars in space (participation) = 29 percent! Woot! Woot!
