Nice to see you compliment another erger, even if she is your wife.

But you didn't say she rows well. What's her SPI? How far does she go at 9.3 SPI for 27 minutes?
ranger wrote: She gets interested in the highlights but pretty much ignores what I do in my rowing beyond that.
She's smarter than the rest of us!
Yes, she's _very_ smart.

Of course, most women are a hell of a lot more sensible than men, anyway, especially about sports.

What did Sir Pirate used to call it? Oh, yeah... "Glory Weight"

My guess is that if you had to weigh-in before a lightweight hour on the erg: your blood would coagulate in your veins due to dehydration....

Have you ever logged a lwt hour?.... If so, what was it in meters?
I am now a walking around lightweight, Mike.

In fact, I think I am headed for 155 lbs. by the end of April.

I have about 145 lbs. of non-fat body mass, no more than you.

I race when I am ready, not just randomly, or for whatever.

I am indeed getting ready for distance trials.

So I will do them pretty soon.

That's not my concern right now, though.

My major concern right now is with the 2K.

And the 2K will continue to be my major concern until the end of April.

I am going to be sharpening with anaerobic intervals (500m, 1K, 2K, 5K, etc.) until then, in order to make my whole base available for racing.

He's very well. Has switched sports but still holds your age group WR for erging.
No, his erging is not at all good, and there is no proof that it is.
Wise up Trollboy. He's hardly erging at all. So your call for proof is baseless.

He has nothing to prove. He is _still_ the WR holder. Talk about moment time all you want, but his WR has stood for years. Without making a career out of it he made lwt and pulled a world record that still stands.

Tell me, at the same age that Roy Brook pulled the WR, what was your lwt 2K best?

What else did she do besides running then?
Well, I wouldn't have been able to do anything without her.

Other than taking care of me for 35 years, she raised three children and made most of the money it took to get it done--simultaneously.

Amazing woman.

Heck, can you imagine putting up with me, day in and day out, for 35 years?

She deserves a place in some sort of hall of fame.

A whole day w/o a simple answer to a simple question
Once again: Excluding 2k...Excluding getting ready... what have been your performances in other distances and times in the C2 format?
Such as:

Remember last March '09 ?... You agreed to post a 5k ... Remember Oct '07 the same....(no follow thru on your part...   You have the times or DNFs or DNSs
It's alright. We're sensitive to the tender emotions of those who fail

As indoor rowing is set up now, the other distances are just training for the 2K, so there is no reason even to time yourself in them, although the kind of work involved must indeed be done if you are to have a good 2K.

What you do at 5K, 6K, 30min, 10K, etc., is reflected directly in your 2K, so there is nothing to hide.

From my 2K at the end of the season, you can calculate exactly what I am able to do for the other distances.

The whole affair is redundant.

5K is done at 2K + 5.
6K is done at 2K + 6.
10K is done at 2K + 8.
60min is done at 2K + 10.

etc.

If I end up pulling 6:16 for 2K by the end of April, this will mean than I can do 1:39 for 5K, 1:40 for 6K, 1:42 for 10K, and 1:44 for 60min.

Sure, as I went along, I continually tried to push my training, hoping that it would develop more quickly than it did.

But in the end, it had to develop naturally, at it own pace.

And I am glad I had the patience to wait it out.

As far as I can tell, I have succeeded--in spades.

We'll soon see.

My foundational (UT) training is now done.

I am just sharpening it up for racing.

I can now do 1:40 @ 30 spm at my anaerobic threshold.

That's an improvement of 8 seconds per 500m in my distance rowing.

Astonishing stuff.

Isn't that just too fucking cute. Because you're just such an adorable eccentric. Here: I 'll even throw in one of these winking faces you seem to think make you lovable.

What you are, if your posts are a fair gauge -- and since we've all seen some 20,000 or so of them, I think they are -- is a lying, dishonorable, self-adoring head case (my best guess is clinical narcissism compounded, by or born of Aspergers).

What she deserves is help and relief.

The Lady of the Lake, her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water, signifying by divine providence that I, Arthur, was to carry Excalibur. THAT is why I am your king.

That is why Rich will pull a 6:16. The Lady of the Lake... said so...

Well, the erg pretty much passes judgment on these things.

So your judgment is superfluous.

The erg is a truth machine, and training on the erg is intrinsically honorable and humbling, as is most intense training.

Cruising sailors spend a lot of time in their cabins, but racing sailors are intense.

CROWD: A witch! A witch! A witch! We've got a witch! A witch!
VILLAGER #1: We have found a witch, might we burn her?
CROWD: Burn her! Burn!
BEDEMIR: How do you know she is a witch?
VILLAGER #2: She looks like one.
BEDEMIR: Bring her forward.
WITCH: I'm not a witch. I'm not a witch.
BEDEMIR: But you are dressed as one.
WITCH: They dressed me up like this.
CROWD: No, we didn't... no.
WITCH: And this isn't my nose, it's a false one.
BEDEMIR: Well?
VILLAGER #1: Well, we did do the nose.
BEDEMIR: The nose?
VILLAGER #1: And the hat -- but she is a witch!
CROWD: Burn her! Witch! Witch! Burn her!
BEDEMIR: Did you dress her up like this?
CROWD: No, no... no ... yes. Yes, yes, a bit, a bit.
VILLAGER #1: She has got a wart.
BEDEMIR: What makes you think she is a witch?
VILLAGER #3: Well, she turned me into a newt.
BEDEMIR: A newt?
VILLAGER #3: I got better.
VILLAGER #2: Burn her anyway!
CROWD: Burn! Burn her!
BEDEMIR: Quiet, quiet. Quiet! There are ways of telling whether
she is a witch.
CROWD: Are there? What are they?
BEDEMIR: Tell me, what do you do with witches?
VILLAGER #2: Burn!
CROWD: Burn, burn them up!
BEDEMIR: And what do you burn apart from witches?
VILLAGER #1: More witches!
VILLAGER #2: Wood!
BEDEMIR: So, why do witches burn?
[pause]
VILLAGER #3: B--... 'cause they're made of wood...?
BEDEMIR: Good!
CROWD: Oh yeah, yeah...
BEDEMIR: So, how do we tell whether she is made of wood?
VILLAGER #1: Build a bridge out of her.
BEDEMIR: Aah, but can you not also build bridges out of stone?
VILLAGER #2: Oh, yeah.
BEDEMIR: Does wood sink in water?
VILLAGER #1: No, no.
VILLAGER #2: It floats! It floats!
VILLAGER #1: Throw her into the pond!
CROWD: The pond!
BEDEMIR: What also floats in water?
VILLAGER #1: Bread!
VILLAGER #2: Apples!
VILLAGER #3: Very small rocks!
VILLAGER #1: Cider!
VILLAGER #2: Great gravy!
VILLAGER #1: Cherries!
VILLAGER #2: Mud!
VILLAGER #3: Churches -- churches!
VILLAGER #2: Lead -- lead!
ARTHUR: A duck.
CROWD: Oooh.
BEDEMIR: Exactly! So, logically...,
VILLAGER #1: If... she.. weighs the same as a duck, she's made of wood.
BEDEMIR: And therefore--?
VILLAGER #1: A witch!
CROWD: A witch!
BEDEMIR: We shall use my larger scales!
[yelling]
BEDEMIR: Right, remove the supports!
[whop]
[creak]
CROWD: A witch! A witch!
WITCH: It's a fair cop.
CROWD: Burn her! Burn! [yelling]
BEDEMIR: Who are you who are so wise in the ways of science?
ARTHUR: I am Arthur, King of the Britons.
BEDEMIR: My liege!
ARTHUR: Good Sir knight, will you come with me to Camelot,
and join us at the Round Table?
BEDEMIR: My liege! I would be honored.
ARTHUR: What is your name?
BEDEMIR: Bedemir, my leige.
ARTHUR: Then I dub you Sir Bedemir, Knight of the Round Table.
