I guess moose aren't the most graceful looking on skiis. I wanted to get out skiing yesterday, but had to dig my mostly buried canoe trailer out of the snow and shovel a path to get it to my driveway, check it out, and load it up for a long trip south. Hopefully after packing for the trip, I will have a couple hours in the next 2 days to get out on the ski trails one more time before I leave. If you can log into Facebook, I posted a 30 sec video of me on the ski trail the last time out.

Moose,

Better bring the skis with you. It snowed in Pensicola yesterday and was 36 in Daytona this AM. Have a great trip.

Hooyah! The erg flywheel was spinning at the family Strasburger abode yesterday with our Captain and sons contributing a hefty full moon's worth of meters in their conquest of the Valentine Challenge (although Ben had already completed this)! And, welcome back to Gene B, who brings our crew roster back to 104.

Season meters as of 290/365 = 92,454,582 m

Total meters on the day = 219,811 m

Oars in space (participation) = 16 percent

MILESTONES...Bragging Rights....Celebrations:

Image Half moon for Gene B as he imports 29,576 m to the team piggy bank
Image Half marathon/moon for Barbara with 21,332 m

And thanks to all today's crew for moving us closer to the moon:

Lefty 3,991 m
Denise 5,076 m
Andrea 5,165 m
Rich 6,017 m
Sorin 7,000 m
Anne 8,000 m

Baz 15,568 m

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 2.16.10

Post by Kona2 » February 16th, 2010, 12:31 pm

The Fall Rowing Challenge always starts our ramp up towards mega-team meters, the Holiday Challenge gets a lot of our team producing big daily meter totals, and the January Virtual Team Challenge wears on us a bit. But wait....there's more! We still have three events of import: March Madness is around the corner - think lots of green, lots of prizes for those rowing daily 5K or 10K amounts! The World Rowing Challenge puts all the teams (virtual, club, health, etc.) into the same pond and froth on the water as the oars churn. Look for North Texas and Community Rowing to duke it out on the meter boards. And, for those who relish gaining just that one more pin of the rowing year, there is the marathon...in all it's 42,195 m glory. Get your seat pads now because the fanny factor will be ever so real!

Image Space Shuttle Endeavor astronauts are putting the finishing touches on the additional room (appropriately named Tranquility) for the International Space Station today....good thing! Amazing that they've anticipated that we might need a stopover on our way to the moon! With all these celebrations we're having, we either need a space stopover or seatbelts on the ergs!
