Sorry, I'm a little late but congrats to you Gina, and welcome Stephen. Been putting in sprinkler pipe in my yard, and rocks in my yard and my sister's, after wheel barreling 15 tons we decided a bobcat was the way to go for the remaining 50 or so that were left. Pretty much had my fill of rocks.

wonder when C2 will post the race results...until then my meter total is 2,000 m short! I want credit for every meter I row, even the ones that won me the gold!!

Seriously, racing was so much fun. I encourage everyone who can to enter a local race.

Magnificent effort Gina!!

Post by Dave_H » January 27th, 2010, 6:13 am

Wow Gina... just brilliant!! :!: :!:

I hope you are proud of your achievement... 'cause we all are!! B) B)

Dan - so sorry to hear about this... at least I can limp along with my shoulder... to not be able to do anything is very sad. :(
Maybe you can make an upper body harness to allow at least your legs and torso to exert a pull... that youthful six pack could be just around the corner!! (or if not, in the fridge??). If you row one arm only, you could end up like Homer...

Cheers,
Dave

Sorry about your injury.
Maybe concept two has ideas about how to adapt the rower for you, unless of course, your engineering friends would rather figure it out on their own.

David - thanks, I never thought I could ever enter this race because it is usually on Saturday. On a whim, I emailed the race organizers in December asking if the race could ever be scheduled on a Sunday. They replied a few days later saying that the race was rescheduled to Sunday because the SAT test was to be on Saturday. They were nice enough to let me know. Not sure what day it will be held on in the future. This may have been a once in a lifetime experience.

I used to enter the races here in Cincinnati, and was fortunate that the were almost always on Sunday, as most places seem to have them on Shabbos.
(I would never train for them, but it was fun to participate, and to watch others.)
