Thanks Paul. It's certainly the group effort that makes it the good time that it is.
Jim Keating, who annually donates Nelson Sennit keyrings from his The Marlinspike Sailor Of Marblehead business that he does with his son (see marlinspikesailor.com ). Jim was 2nd this year in the 60-69 Hwt division with a 7:35.1 at age 62, then headed off with Mrs. Keating to explore Angie's and/or Taffy's restaurants and load up with breakfast or breakfasts.

Sharon Yu, using the erg for cross-training in preparation for running the Paris Marathon in April, won the Coxswain (120lb for women) division with 9:32.2 at age 56. She also baked and brought lots of excellent cookies for post-race refreshment. Sharon rowed CRASH-Bs back when they were still 2500m, so this must have felt like nothing.

Rick Bayko, the Grand Poobah hisself, shown here already emitting a lactic acid haze with far too many meters to go and probably wondering if life is even going to worth living on the other side of this 2K. It got better. Later the Sledgehammer winner Jon Bone asked with a hint of sarcasm "Are you even 150 pounds?" The answer was "Noooo." It should have been, "Not even close." This morning at the gym the balance beam scale read 142 lbs, and the digital scale 143.8. Even at the higher figure I'm closer to Coxswain (130 for men) than Heavyweight (165.1 for men).

Kinley, it's a bit scary, isn't it? I promise to try to use my powers for good instead of evil. OTOH, you might have been the only one of us to survive had we all been in Jonestown.
michaelb, it would be great to have you. send me your email (PM or whatever) and I'll add you to my email list. I only use it for that one purpose.

Kinley, I can't tell if you were the victim of one of the biggest photobombs ever, or if you pulled a beautiful reverse photobomb on the lot of 'em.Kinley wrote: Good grief! I didn't realize everyone standing behind me was actually making silly faces like you told them to.
