Meanwhile, we also have some new crew members signing on for the year round team....I know...it's amazing!

Image Welcome aboard....Melissa from Washington, Terry B from NJ, and Scott from France (a returnee I believe). We wish you many hours of Luna-Tic rowing - and hope you also have good stories to share because we're fond of those.

Happy New Year, shipmates! It was a near thing to get my two Blue Moon sessions in on the 31st - the Y where I row closed at 1:00 PM, and the place was packed all day. There are only two Concept 2's there and I ended up finishing the second session with only a few minutes to spare before they would have thrown me out.
Afterwards, I decided not to bother the bartender - I celebrated with a couple of Coors Banquets, which are much easier to get now than when I was first introduced to them. We used to have to undertake a road trip to the West with a pickup truck of coolers - now we can get the Silver Bullet in every party store in town. It is a little harder to find the original Banquet, I guess because everyone in Michigan is so concerned with watching their caloric intake. Yeah, right.
I made 5M lifetime with my first outing of the new year. The Y was closed all day on the 1st, but I got 'er done this morning. It's good to have the constant encouragement of our ship's officers!

It's a bit of a challenge in itself, finding where the different C2 challenge stats are posted ... they have the holiday challenge on the logbook tab ... the blue moon challenge on the challenges tab, and I just now found the JVT challenge on the team tab. Go LunaTeam!

Greetings!

Post by MT » January 2nd, 2010, 10:46 pm

Thank you for the warm welcome, LUNA-TICS!

I began rowing several years ago while working as a river guide. Years went by when I had neither boat, nor erg--just happy rowing memories. In October, 2009 I bought my model D, and have been enjoying it ever since. It's been a great exercise solution for the cold, wet, dark winters here in the PNW.

Cheers to being in the same boat--to the inspiration, motivation, and everything else that comes along for the ride.

Melissa (aka MT)

Wow! I haven't checked in since the 29th and there's a whole boat load of new members. Welcome aboard everyone!

I'm impressed with all the great accomplishments on the Blue Moon Challenge. Congrats on the personal bests and/or erging more than ever before.

Thanks for the Knappogue Jane. It was mighty delicious.

I gave myself some time off the erg between challenges, but you'll see me join back in on Monday when I return to work. (I'm a teacher, so I've been on vacation.)

Happy New Year to all you Loonies! Thanks for the inspiration!

Karyn
