Really, it ends up being more like a thick milkshake with a little fuel for the jets! :D Any excuse to consume more chocolate!

Fantastic tending of the bar, Jane. You're creative streak is right up there with the best of them!

I'd like to raise a toast to our worthy statician, K2. "For carrying the team through the whole year with boundless enthusiasm, faithfulness, creativity and resourcefulness. May you be blessed with even more this coming year!"

Fantastic job on the bar last night Jane!!
(tho you shouldn't have left a full bottle of Lagavulin sitting around... I might have a virtual hangover later today.)

And I certainly raise a glass to toast K2! Thanks for another year of "keeping the books"!!

Cheers to all,
Dave

Jane -

I certainly hope the bar is still open! I'll have my usual a Black Velvet - a splash of Guiness in a flute of Champagne. 'Tis the traditional oarsman's drink as one puts the boats back out on the water when the ice thaws.

I managed to get to the local 24 hr fitness, with a free 7 day pass. Just enough time for Concept 2 to ship me the new monitor. But they only have Model C's. I'm spoiled. Also they were rather yucky/dirty, and stuck in a back corner of a room full of new fancy elipticals and other stuff one can fall off of!

But I got my 2 5k's done, my certificate in hand!

Gina

Blue Moonies Update

Post by Kona2 » December 31st, 2009, 9:44 pm

Image Blue Moon Challenge....more on the boards!

Congratulations - newest Blue Moonies: 20 !!!!!

Gina!

Wowzer, Gina! No way did she let an issue like a defunct PM3 (or 4?) monitor stop her from completing the Blue Moon Challenge! Maximizing her training for the Beach Sprints, she found a nearby gym and met the rowing challenge in a different environment! Sounds like a good way to add in the more subjective part of the competition training.

And thanks for the kudos and the toast! Happy New Year's Eve, everyone!

Gina, you are in luck. With the Black and Tan Order I have Guinness in stock.

With the Kir Royale order, I have a the Champagne and flute too.

Jane

Any other late order will have to made from items listed in the ingredient lists from other drinks. Lists can be found on the previous posting page

It's still only 7pm on NYE, and I'm working up to my Kir Royale with a couple of Vesper martinis under the belt. What a fun night ... even though our good friends in Oz are already eating lunch on New Year's Day. It's so hard to be always doing sweep!

Many, many thanks to K2 and all her bullying and motivational postings. Cheers, Kona!

Our moon journey thus far...

Post by Kona2 » January 1st, 2010, 11:48 am

On this New Year's Day (or NYD + 1 for Aussies) it's good to calibrate where we are on our journey! With two-thirds of the rowing year used up, here's where our star sightings place us:

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 12.31.09

Post by Kona2 » January 1st, 2010, 1:38 pm

Just a tiny bit of virtual team competition philosophy: row what you can when you can, set reasonable goals, cheer your teammates onward, and share your stories - there's a lot of inspiration in this Luna-Tic crew!

Our goal is the moon, and the challenges help us get there. Along the way, of course, we do want to show the rowing strength and heart of this team!
Hooyah, Luna-Tics - go for the gold!

Two-thirds of our rowing season is complete - and it's been resplendent with personal milestones, good laughs and team successes. This last third of the rowing year is chock full of lengthy challenges (and opportunities!): the January Virtual Team Challenge rows from Jan 1 - 31; the Valentines Challenge Feb 9 - 14; March Madness Mar 1 - 31; the World Rowing Challenge Mar 15 - Apr 15; and the virtual butt kicker Global Marathon Challenge Apr 16 - 30. Join in the ones that you can - many team members participate in multisport activities....and then there is that call of the open water.....

We're entering that portion of the map that says "unchartered territory" and "here be beasties." Might even encounter a few pirates. So buckle your seatbelts, mates, liftoff is occurring!
