There was _much_ more drama before this race.
I was told by everyone in town--for an entire year--that Dennis was so good and so experienced and I was so sketchy and so inexperienced that I couldn't hold Dennis' zipper while he took a piss.
Hmm.
He got wasted.

Then things got quite a bit worse yet.
Standings for the next season turned out this way.
Dennis started to get worse; I continued to get better.

Now, Dennis is no longer rowing, but I am quite a bit better yet.
How much better?
About a dozen seconds over 2K, I think.
Why?
Between then and now, I learned to row well.
I now pull 12.5 SPI.
In the race you just saw, I pulled 10.5 SPI.
Wretched stuff, technically.
Back in 2003, I didn't know how to row.
