And if you pull 5:36, you'll be pulling along with Waddell. But you aren't going to be pulling 5:36, or 6:16, or even 6:38, so your comparison of what you dream about doing and what others have actually done is just more of your public self-adulation. Didn't your parents teach you enough manners to know to do your pulling in private?ranger wrote:If I pull 6:16 this year, I'll be pulling along with Ebbesen, Auer, and Ebert.
6:28 2K
I don't mention that I was an Olympic silver medalist either, but my erg times are exactly comparable to Joan's.snowleopard wrote:joanVB doesn't even mention that she was an Olympic medallist.
When I pull 6:16 at 60, my erg times will be _waaaaay_ better than Joan's.
A lwt male 6:16 at 60 is comparable to 7:07 for Joan at 60.
Last year, Joan pulled 7:43.
Joan is 56.

I will now pull an efficient 11-12 SPI when I race, with a max HR that is still 190 bpm.
My training has been close to maximal for a decade.
I am no longer a novice.
I now row well.
I am no longer doing just foundational training.
I am now training to race.
This winter, when I am fully trained, I will race like an elite 30s lwt.

The big difference being that you have never been near an Olympics.ranger wrote:I don't mention that I was an Olympic silver medalist either, but my erg times are exactly comparable to Joan's.snowleopard wrote:joanVB doesn't even mention that she was an Olympic medallist.
Wake up ranger, you are a sporting nobody who publishes homoerotic pictures of himself on a rowing forum while fantasising about 30 yo lwt rowers. Your sporting distinctions are in minor league speed skating aged 9 and age group erging at 50+. The period in between is marked by a nothing but mediocrity.
All your WRs have been beaten by better men. Your remaining aspiration is the 60+ lwt WR for which you are training full time just so you can cringingly cling to sporting glory. A 6:16 2K is and will remain a fantasy.
Time to get out the heart rate monitor again.
It will interesting to see what my heart rides at, steady state, when I row 60min @ 1:48.
Back in 2003, when I rowed badly, the answer was 172 bpm.
High UT1
Now that I row well, I suspect the answer might be 152 bpm.
Low UT1
My fitness is just about the same, but my rowing is now much more effective and efficient.

Yes, my WRs have been bested by younger men.snowleopard wrote:All your WRs have been beaten by better men
No matter.
I am now faster than I was, and faster than those who have been faster than I was, even though I am six years older.
At the end of the day, I won't care that some who were much younger rowed slower.
We all develop at our own pace and peak when we peak, no sooner.

Funny how you are so quick to judge someone with a negative attitude towards yourself, yet you seem to think it's ok to mock and degrade the efforts of others here. The difference, you boast and talk and act like you are something special while everyone else just wants to post training and learn more.ranger wrote:Nay-saying is just the smallest of small talk.whp4 wrote:you aren't...

Nay-saying is "fatal stuff"? Here's a handy list of people who might have been saved by well-timed nay-sayers: www.darwinawards.com/

Obviously, he never has, and I dont believe for a minute that he really thinks his erg results are equivalent to Joan's. He's just trying to get a rise out of people by equating himself with her.
