Audiences are irrelevant to performances.

The people in the stands do all kinds of strange, misguided and misinformed things, things that have no effect at all on the field of play.

That's why they are in the stands rather than on the field of play.
Aren't you the same guy who wasted C2's money flying to BIRC and then opting not to race, preferring to sit in the stands?
Very true 2004, he stayed at the Rockets Mansion in London.
he warmed up and then decided his stroke wasn't quite right. I was sat on the front line of ergs and there was no Ranger, he was watching in the bleachers!!!
Thanks Rich, gave me a bronze in the 50LW that year with your absence.

Sure, I can race when I want.

But the whole affair in 2003-2004 had nothing to do with C2's money.

I was paying my way.

Even when I broke the WR in my USIRT trial in 2003, C2 didn't choose to sponsor me.

So I went to BIRC and EIRC on my own coin.

In 2004, I was just in the first stages of changing my technique.

This was especially confusing.

So even though I went to the race venue at BIRC 2004 and certainly _wanted_ to race, I just didn't feel ready, so I didn't race.

But that is all in the past now.

My technique is now fine.

I am again getting ready to race.

Watch out!

Indeed I have.

The money is a retirement account, though.

I can't access it until I quit my job...

which might be soon, if the account gets large enough.

It is doing _great_.

After guessing the tech bubble, I guessed the housing bubble, too.

Sold out at the top, and bought in at the bottom.

The market is up 50% since March.

Back over 10,000 on the Dow today, up from 6500.

Looking good going into the Christmas season.

The global economy is recovering.

If this continues, I will make money like a bandit.

A hundred grand a year.

If anything speaks to your lying and/or cowardice and/or unfailing belief in the gullibility of others this is certainly it. You "just didn't feel ready"? How sad. And this, after six hours a day or whatever you were claiming that particular year. (+ Two hours on the stepper, 1000 jackknifes, blah, blah, blah times one thousand). And you were afraid to compete in an amateur, age group, weight regulated sport? What a fucking princess. You say the venue doesn't matter, the audience? No: you quailed. You flew to England and were afraid to compete. Afraid to fail, which you apparently knew was in the cards.

What a fucking wanker you are. What a pathetic, needy creep.

You guys realize that if you never respond to his posts, then he wont make as many new ones? Just a tip.

If he pulls whatever he claims, great for him. Until then I see no reason to argue.

Indeed.

I am just pursuing my goals, like anyone else.

Afraid?

No.

Not ready.

Big difference.

And as to competing or not, that's entirely my choice.

I am not on a team.

I do not have a coach.

I am not getting paid or sponsored.

I am almost 60 years old.

I am just having fun.

Rowing is a hobby.

I enjoy it.

I am good at it.

_Very_ good.

That makes it especially fun.

In 2004?

I was just learning to row.

In order to do this, on the erg, I was rowing an hour a day or so at low rates and high stroking power, struggling with technique.

Are you thinking of 2003?

Sure, I did all of the things you list in 2003, and more besides.

Result: 6:36, 6:33, 6:30, 6:32, 6:29, 6:28, 6:32 (3 WR rows, golds in all the major championships, etc.).

These times clearly plateaued, though, and I couldn't do anything else for my fitness in order to improve.

So if I wanted to get better, the only thing was to try to get better at rowing.

So that's what I tried to do.

I bought a 1x and started rowing in the water, and when I rowed on the erg, I just worked on technique.

I didn't train to race.

This re-training has taken a while, but I now row well.

So now we'll see how this bears on my 2K.

I am now training to race.

True, and even though my post count is low, I have been taking tips and inspiration from this forum for a long long time.

Don't get me wrong, I think ranger is a complete tool; but surely this is better than new guys and gals been put off by constant fighting between people whose times they will never get close to.

True, but I simply can't resist if the lies go out to far, I stopped reacting a few months but he simply takes it further and further, he also start's insulting people, there is only one solution, he should be banned, like he is on the uk forum.
