Just thought you might be interested to know that I worked in a hospital lab that did blood work including Thyroid hormones etc.

I now work in a reference lab doing specialized chemistry testing :P

My challenge is blown unfortunately having to work many hours over different shifts :x

Hope you feel better soon Pat.

Hope you feel better soon, Pat.
I'm sure there are many more rowers in the team who, like me, have little time to keep in touch but who always enjoy receiving your words of encouragement.
I can honestly say that both as a rower and a team captain you are an amazing source of inspiration.
Take care.

Hi Pat,
There is no way you could let this team down! If I'd done even a quarter of your time on the erg I'd be over the moon!
Get well soon,
Cheers

Chris, it ain't over 'til it's over! Don't give up; just do whatever you can! Before you know it, the next challenge will be here (Holiday Challenge). If you need another challenge before that point when things lighten up at the job, maybe we can work something out with members of the team (like pushing ourselves to pass the team above us).

Pat, my husband has family members with low thyroid & indeed, it is a pain. I'm sorry to hear you have to deal with this! Best wishes on your birthday & for a healthy year ahead!

Brrrr.... hard frost still to come but the lighter frosts are making things chilly!

Happy birthday Pat! I'll echo everyone else's comments... you're a great captain and joining team Timbuk2 was the best decision. This team has pushed me farther than I ever thought I could go.

My first ever row was on September 8th ( I was lying on the floor after 2500 meters)... I never thought I'd be able to row over 20,00 meters in one day. On more than one occassion I thought that I was going to hurt myself trying to keep up with Linda & Lisa. I desperately wanted everyone to take a day off so I could recover.

Thanks for being a great Team Captain... and to my team-mates... thanks for pushing me to new heights. Looking forward to the remainder of the FRC.

P.S> My wife is limiting me to 1 hour of rowing per day. I may have to sneak down in the middle of the night.

Chris, Paul, Laura, Linda, Joel..
Thanks to all of you for your kind words. This has been the greatest challenge yet!! TIMBUK2 is made up of the absolute greatest and friendliest rowers.Such spirit and strength and support.
Fun to be in this virtual community.
I managed to get a few meters in today..and felt great. The elbow seems to be getting better..I have found a wonderful support wrap that makes rowing much more tolerable.
The thyroid will get straightened out one way or another.I just can't do a million meter challenge like I did a few years ago.. I don't have enough fuel in my tank right now..but will work back up to it!!!

Joel..maybe you will join the team TimbukTOO for the rest of the regular rowing season. We would be happy to have you join us if you are not already on another team.

ROW STRONG!!!

:-)

Hi Pat,

How do I join team Timbuktoo for the rest of the season? Do I need to wait till the FRC is over and then change teams in my profile?

Joel..You can join us at any time..even today :D Just go to your profile.."edit" and add us using the drop down menu.Let me know if you need more help.
Happy to have you aboard!!
By the way..you can be on both of these teams at the same time..TIMBUK2 is the Challenge boat and TimbukTOO is our season boat.Confusing :? but doable

Hard Core!

Post by n1lul » October 2nd, 2009, 10:55 am

Our top dude is averaging 17,250 meters per day and he is only 47th.!!

What are the top folks averaging? I looked around the website and could not find individual results.

I really like the erg, but there must be some folks that LOVE erging.
