That the spirit Wilbury :D I'm not sure how everyone else feels, but I think it should always be fun. If it's feeling too much like work you can try mixing it up a bit. If you usually row really fast, you could try slowing it down and watching your favourite tv show while you row. Or if it's the opposite, you could try doing a couple sprints. You can try varying the lengths too, if you usually do one long workout, you could switch to a few shorter ones, or vice versa. For me, I get kind of discouraged doing anything over 5K, so when I do I like to break it down into little sections mentally, so if I'm doing 10K, to really, "in my head" do 5 little sections of 2K. Another thing you might like trying are intervals. Most of my exceptionally long workouts were done that way, they are kind of nice too because you get bonus "rest" metres (where the wheel is still spinning but you aren't really rowing anymore). Then I just do a short little workout at the end to round off my metres because I'm like that.

Jan,

Nice job with the charts. Those comparisons to last year are really cool to see. And thank you so much for keeping the numbers so faithfully and enthusiastically the way you do. Three cheers for K2!

Great advice, Kiba! Thanks for sharing it. This is exactly how I run my marathons - 2 minutes at a time. It really helps a person do more than they thought possible.

Kiba,
I took your advice. I've been doing all my rowing in one sitting. Today, I broke it up. And, it looks like the joy is back. It's only 6:00 pm in the Middle East. I believe there is time for another session or two. Thanks!

AWOL

Welcome, Bart! (I met my husband in Bruxelles - fond memories of living in Belgium.)

Just heading down to San Francisco to pick up my friend who's arriving from London this afternoon ... we have various incoming visitors for the next 3 weeks, so I'm sure my callouses will have a chance to disappear. I'll give my rower a quick pat on the monitor from time to time, in between my tour guide and happy hostess duties!
