Image Dave with his third consecutive half marathon brings in # 31 (some sort of pattern here...)

Fall Rowing Challenge Update

Post by Kona2 » September 18th, 2009, 8:55 pm

Image

Yep, the challenge is definitely ON ! RowPro is making a pretty good push to close the gap between their current fourth place and our current third place. We'll see what happens over the course of the weekend!

Congrats to Kiba and Bart for achieving 100,000 m mark in the Fall Challenge - and joining the Wills already there (Wild Bill and Will S). Forgot to ask - when you cross the 100K milestone, do you get a link to the certificate then?

This is a great time to add an extra fifteen minutes of rowing into your day - if you can do so. Row what you have time for - the challenge is still young! It's the last two weeks that will get seriously competitive. If you're shopping for a team to join, we'd like to have you consider us! Of course, we'd like it even better if you joined our year round team, too!

:D Hooyah, Luna-Tics! To The Moon!

My guess:

Will's season metres = 1,616,481

Add the numbers together and they equal ... 27 :!:

Cool, eh?

talk like a pirate

OK, so I did not have a picture of the pirate on the moon, but do have a link to Pink's We've got scurvy in honor of talk like a pirate day. It might even stick in your head like the All the Ducks are Swimming in the Water song Chris posted last year.

International Talk Like A Pirate Day

Post by Kona2 » September 19th, 2009, 11:38 pm

Image Woohoo! We have some new year round teammates - a Luna-Tic welcome to Anne and Gail! Good job Kaptn Kristine for recruiting some of our Fall Challenge Teammates to be part of the year round team. You have, of course, fallen in with a band of pirates (since today is international talk like a pirate day). Ever since Orion brought the talk like a pirate day to our attention, we have enthusiastically participated in this ritual. And, Calamity, I did have one moonshot of a pirate from last season....so here you go!

To the moon, mates, to the moon! The pirate booty is buried there ... or so the legend of Peggy Pirate goes....

I have to say, as day 6 of the FRC rolls around, my workputs are becoming more like, well, work. But then, I log on to the Forum, and see the crew giving it all, reaching new goals and heights. It is inspiring. A great effort by all hands. I can't wait for tomorrow!!!
