Dan I'm closing in on paddling 500 miles for this season, with about 80% on non-moving water. So if on the water mileage counted on Concept's log book, I'd be around 1.8 million meters total. You are still way ahead of that. But IF I stayed home and didn't wander around the U.S. and Canada so much and rowed on the Concept every day, I should have rowed around 1.6 million meters this season by now. And every meter would count! Would I do that?? NAW... it just wouldn't be the same.
Trout Recipe
Thanks for the trout recipe, Darryl ... I cut and pasted your method into my recipe box for future use! The fish that my neighbors gave me weren't anywhere near as big as the ones you referenced ... maybe one pounders. I had no idea how to cook them, so I just dredged them in flour, salt and pepper, and sauteed them whole (complete with heads and eyes ... though they'd thankfully had the guts removed already) in olive oil. They were quite tasty, but nowhere near as good looking as the ones in your pictures!DuluthMoose wrote:Chris- Hope that trout turned out tasty however you cooked it. You are starting with tasty stuff, so chances are real good it turned out well. ... Here is how I cook up larger trout (2 to 6 pounders with up to 1.5 inch thick fillets) at the campsite. ... Bon appetite!
I suggested to my neighbors that they cast for bigger trout.

Congrats Darryl and Tim on your millions!
I hope to get back on the erg tomorrow (been very sporadic lately...
). Will try to provide some extra lunar illumination in the Southern skies...
Kiba, I know the tip is a bit late; however I bought a pack of interlocking rubbery foam tiles (about an inch thick...) and find they give great soundproofing as well as stop the erg from moving at all on our timber floor. Only cost about $15 from memory...
Hope your weekends are all great,
Dave

Hey luna-tics
Good to be back - I hope everyone on the team is dong well and rowing, biking canoeing, running, walking the dogs etc,
The machine and the rowers are back in action in the Newall-Vuillenmot family. The flywheel was opened up and the spiders living inside had to find a new home.
3 Kids rowed this morning before any one else was out of bed so they should appear in the charts soon. Who knows, our youngest who is two may start soon. Orion wants to teach the dog to row.
