John, just curious as to why you are selling them...they look very interesting on the website, but do they affect the intensity of the workout?

Thanks,
Mike

are these the slides that a group of forum members donated money for, to purchase for you some years ago? Or am I mis-remembering that (since the old forum posts are gone)?

Hi Mike,

I decided at the end of the year to focus entirely on running from now on, sold my model D on Ebay and it was picked up by a nice fellow a couple of evenings ago. I haven't rowed since the end of the year. Also I wanted that space in the garage for the treadmill, so I can move it out of the living room and use it more often, as the garage is cooler in the mornings.

The slides take a little more space but give a much smoother action to rowing, as you are moving the erg back and forth instead of only the body and having to stop at each end of the drive. Some people have said the slides are more like rowing on the water. Personally I found rowing on the slides to be quite a bit faster, as much as 3 seconds per 500 meters. Yes, you certainly get as much intensity on the slides, and they are much easier on the body. I feel that rowing on the slides is much more productive and enjoyable.

I was thinking the same thing. Strange that he isn't donating them in turn to another forumite who would like to use them, or answering your question.

I did donate quite a bit of personal feedback to the forum from my use of the slides a few years ago, and was happy to do this, not expecting anything in return. It pleases me that I have been able to help so many others with their rowing and technique.

I have considered just keeping my slides, and perhaps selling them in the fall during rowing season. The heat of summer is probably not the best time to sell rowing equipment. I personally feel that my slides are worth more than new ones from C2, since I am the one who has owned them.

Mainly I wanted the space from the rowing machine and it is now gone. I squeegeed the floor of that area yesterday and am ready to move the treadmill there any time. My slides are hanging on the wall and don't take up any additional space. I would like to keep them but have no use for them as I won't be rowing any more.

This is a great opportunity for someone to get a nice pair of slides for a very reasonable price.
