Why ebay may not be such a good deal
Having looked at ebay pricing I am somewhat puzzled as to why to buy a used rower there. The discounts don't seem very good and the shipping is usually around $100. In the end one only saves maybe $200 dollars over a new Model D with a PM3. I live in the East so shipping from Concept 2 is only $40. It has certainly made me rethink the whole idea. And if I want a PM4 upgrading a D with a PM3 is really not cost effective. I'm better off buying a new D with a PM4.

Where To Find The Deals
I have found much better deals available on Craigslist but you generally have to stay local (most just want it out of the house and don't want the hassle of shipping) and the Erg will go fast once it is listed. You don't see them listed too often either.
I agree with your Ebay assessment. The times that I have looked (I am hoping someday to upgrade to a Model D/E) the prices are very close to what you would pay for a brand new machine. If you can afford it it makes much more sense to purchase a new machine with warranty for +200 more. Andy
