All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 7.22.09

Post by Kona2 » July 23rd, 2009, 9:39 am

It was a day filled with good times, good friends, and good food! Thanks everyone for making my day even more spectacular yesterday! This team (and its forum friends TimbukToo!) provides a birthday celebration quite unlike any other - I highly recommend sharing your birth date with the team so we can have yet another reason to party! It's amazing! And, you just might have a birthday twin (Gina, hope your hubby's day was as fun as my day)! In fact, our next celebration will be birthday twins on August 6th.... :D

And, I was able to see Todd Helton of the Rockies baseball team hit his 500th double....becoming the only active player with that stat I believe! Blue sky day indeed!

Season meters as of 83/365 = 20,242,896 m

Total meters on the day = 213,711 m

Oars in space = 26 percent

MILESTONES....Bragging Rights....Celebrations:

2.4 MM Wild Bill
500 K Jan aka K2
Image Barbara with half marathon plus some with # 7 at 25,027 m
Image Dan with half marathon # 51
Image Wild Bill with almost a full moon and 40,000 m

And thanks to today's crew:

Wild Bill 40,000 m
Barbara 25,027 m
Dan 22,383 m
K2 15,903 m
Darryl 14,311 m
Tim 14,193 m
Peter H 12,345 m
David G 12,031 m
Ted 12,000 m
Dave H 10,000 m
Jim 10,000 m
Rick 10,000 m
Peter G 8,500 m
AJ 7,018 m

Great rowing by all !

Good milestone, Tom. Wasn't that the day when temps here were melting the sidewalks?

Nice canoe, Darryl, but I'll miss the moose's smiling face.

Not to worry Chris. I still have the smiling moose shot and it may get re-installed some day. I just felt the world would rather see a pretty, red canoe with classic lines associated with me for now. And this one doesn't even belong to me. It belongs to a friend and I was just taking it out for a test ride to see what I thought of it when he shot this shot at a campsite on the Wisconsin River. My review on this solo canoe (Old Town Penobscot 15): Although it was the right size for me and it did everything I asked it to do, I found it a little broad in beam at the paddling station for my paddling taste and therefore my paddle entry became something less than vertical. This results in less forward force, more correction in my stroke to hold a straight line, and wasted effort. Therefore it was deleted off my list, "Pursuit of the perfect solo canoe". The more canoes I paddle, the more I believe that having just one perfect canoe is a myth.

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 7.23.09

"Go figure" the stats gal said. If just27 didn't point out these photo anomalies, I would not "see" them as Internet Explorer isn't the vehicle I use to access internet. There are different photos of Moose, Peter and Lilia on IE. How this happens is not clear to me....although when I pursued this, some said that Peter and Lilia were sitting on stone donkeys....

Season meters as of 83/365 = 20,434,439 m

Total meters on the day = 191,543 m

Oars in space = 20 percent

MILESTONES....Bragging Rights.....Celebrations:

1.3 MM Chris
800 K Tim
Image Half marathon # 57 for Image or her wilder twin...Image
Image More than half, less than full....Wild Bill shoots another half moon plus with 40,000 m

And thanks to today's crew:

Mike M 49,913 m (quite an update!)
Wild Bill 40,000 m
Chris 21,097 m
Bazzy 16,246 m
Darryl 14,536 m (the red canoe is aesthetically pleasing)
Tim 14,214 m
Barbara 10,030 m (just 606 m more and you would have 888,888!)
Mitch J 10,003 m
Gina 6,694 m
Rick 6,310 m
Peter G 2,500 m

Congratulations, William! 10 MM lifetime is fantastic and, more importantly, don't you get a free C2 sweatshirt, or cool shorts, for that milestone?

I would be the proper, white-glove wearing Minnie ... and my younger birthday twin, Barbara, is definitely the wilder Minnie!

What say you, Wild Minnie, shall we meet virtually somewhere in the middle of the country and have a rousing mousey good time!? Who lives equidistant from Sacramento and Boston and can suggest a venue? Y'all come. Virtual libations and mouse-trap cheese (ah ha ... the ongoing cheezer connection!) are on me.
