Bike Ride

Post by Kona2 » May 18th, 2009, 8:35 am

Bazzy -

Road bike - 37 miles - mostly flat, some rollers - and one short, but nasty hill just to remind you that it's time to get your training game going for the summer. The Loveland Community Classic Bike Tour is like the season opener - designed with enough distance options that community members who don't ride a lot can get out and enjoy, and gearheads can get 62 mile option in if they wish. Loveland has a great bike route and bike path system (can't get any speed going on those segments), and the Carter Lake climb has a few switchbacks and steep descents. Just the kind of ride to get out and enjoy - especially when I have been putting in a lot more time rowing than riding! And even though rowing uses a lot of muscles...somehow, not quite the same ones as biking!

Hi Kona....sounds like it was a great day, and nothing like finding a few muscles that haven't been worked for a while. I did a lot of cycling in my younger days (last week hahaha), but mostly track racing....enjoy all the updates, thanks Baz

Image Image ??

No cows out where I'm golfing so I think they were/are safe. I did kind of de-feather a goose last week (goosed a goose?), but it did not appear to be fatal. Back at the space ranch where Wild Bill is awaiting fellow poker players at the saloon, Kiba has indeed come to play! Will the cards be in her favor? Image

Season meters as of 18/365 = 5,358,075 m

Total meters on the day = 311,209 m

Oars in space = 53 percent!

MILESTONES....Bragging Rights....Celebrations:

300K Bazzy
200K Darryl Image
Image and with # 18 Half Marathon in a row...will just27 continue the self-imposed HM-itis or.....will she take a break? Image

ROWED THE DISTANCE: Greater than 21,097 m rowed in a 24 hr period....also known as a LOTTA meters.....

Image Full Moon - greater than 42,195 m: Wild Horses under a full moon for Wild Bill with 43,000 m

And thanks for ALL the kinds of meters for the lunar crew working towards many different goals.....but mostly for helping us get to the moooon:

Tony 3,333 m
Peter G 3,500 m
AJ 6,685 m
Teresa 6,750 m
Gina 7,435 m (no earthquake news???!)

While I live about 10 m from the epicenter, I didn't think it was that big of a deal. There was a jolt and a roll and it was over. I didn't feel the 3.9 aftershock today.

I suppose an EQ on the erg would feel sort of like a wave on the water?

I think Wild Bill's going to take this hand.. But I might still have an ace or two up my sleeve.

Aces!

There are a lot of rowing aces on this team! And another crew member on walkabout has checked in for the rowing season....welcome back Rodrigo!

A quick look at the team logbook shows we have a number of milestones for tomorrow! Good rowing by all. We're in fifth spot with 44 teammates at the moment.

Don't worry about me, Kiba - there's plenty of room at the top :D

I suggest we not take our eyes of those other folks with a proven record of pulling for the long haul - we're not even through one month of the new season yet

Great profile pic, BTW :P

Bill: I think we both have the same goal of rowing 8 MM this year, so I'd like to officially wish you best of luck, and I don't mind sharing top spot.

I've only been rowing since Christmas, so I can't really vouche for my long haul capabilities.. But I do want to start a glass collection of my own....

And thank you about my profile pic :)

A break it is ... just got home at 10:45pm ... even if I started a HM now, I wouldn't be finished "today" ... so I'm calling it a night ... and thanks for all the fish.

Dan's record last season (23 consecutive HM's, I think??) still stands ... this month anyway! Take it away, poker players.

Indeed Jan... Reached 4MM lifetime with a new PB on 5000m. (precisely in the middle between 18 and 19 minutes)
Just requested another Dutch million meter T-shirt.
