The Luna-Tics crew, uncertain as to whether or not space is the final frontier, realizes that they are out of this earthly world....thus Intergalactic Challenge Champions! Several water fights occurring onboard the ship....in fact, Communications Officer Kona2 is dodging these during this transmission! One crew member celebrates with a warp speed full marathon lap around the Luna-Tics ship....joining an elite group of eight! Mysteriously, though, Toothdoc seems to have gone on a spacewalk....we're assuming he is still tethered to the ship...

KUDOS to you Jan! It's not the speed that counts, it's meeting the challenge and you did just that! WAY TO GO!

So, how are you feeling? What got you through it?

Karyn - one of the things that got me through it was knowing that you'd done it and survived! There are a lot of similarities to doing a biking century, although I didn't realize that I would be thinking I needed bubble wrap or something like it on the concept2 seat with about 10K to go! I listened to the last half of a book "With the Lightnings" by David Drake (it is the beginning of a space series - slow to start, but fast military scifi ), so that made the time go by pretty quickly. I drank a quart of G2 while rowing this one. As to how I'm feeling - fine now that I've had a hot shower. That seems to cure most things! Thanks for paving the way!

Indeed Jan I could not escape this cowardly attack in the back...

Lilia saw it coming transatlantic, and was fully prepared Image

I was hit by surprise and did what I had to do... I rowed my half marathon and went to the tap

It's now My turn Image

This was this mornings breaking news in the Netherlands:

.... We interrupt this broadcast with a special message from out air defence department. Last night one of our citizens was attacked brutally by an intergalactic liquid filled flying object. We cannot let this brutal act unanswered and this morning special bombers were sent to the sky. They will track down the people that are responsible for this brutal act....

The following radar image of the sky over Europe was released shortly after the broadcast:

Image

A plane spotter took this footage a couple of minutes ago
Image

The exact location of the impact is still not confirmed.

I would say... If you haven't been hit yet run for the shelters.

Great job on the air defence Special Ops response to the brutal water balloon attack, Peter! Reports are that the skies were filled with multi-colored balloons, and citizens ran for cover. Not all these devices imploded on contact.....one captured balloon identified the assailants as "Luna-Tics."
Meanwhile, the Luna-Tics crew spotted at various taps in multiple cities throughout the rowing Universe....probably discussing the end of rowing year party!

Lucky 13 days left in the rowing year! I'm checking my meter millionaire projections made back on June 29th when we had 35 team members....they were a bit of a stretch! Stay tuned and keep rowing!

Way to Row Kona2! Nicely done!

Peter - Since you've got the heavy duty Water Balloon Cluster Bomber in the air. My piddly 27 balloons are no defense for that, and our local DNR CL 215's can't be leased right now because of fire danger. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6DQZ5tb ... 7&index=20 (You're LUCKY!) But if I gave you GPS coordinates on some of the frozen lakes around here, could you do a sortie with that CLUSTER BOMBER on them to smash up that ice a little for me????

Actually my wife and I are registered to go to the Twin Cities on Thursday with a tandem canoe, for some efficiency paddling instruction/critique from the owner of Wenonah Canoe. Hopefully he won't be too hard on us when I show up with another brand of canoe.
