It was time to stop and smell the roses - glad I did.

Immediate goals are successful completion of the March Madness challenge at the 10,000 m level and a 5 MM season. I hope to wind up the season on the first page of the 10,000M+ Daily Annual Meters Honor Board for 2009, but we'll see how that pans out.

So far this season I've lost over 100 pounds and rowed more meters than I ever dreamed possible - and I never would have accomplished it without the motivation you folks provide daily. Many thanks!

We will reach the moon and I'm betting it will be sooner than we expect!

. :D
Bill,
Congratulations on all those milestones! :D
Especially on the weight loss  B) - that's terrific! May you have many more years of improved health an rowing.

Sincerely,
David

Say again ... you've lost over 100 pounds!?! Unless you're 7 feet tall, that's extraordinary. Maybe we should have a fine new graphic for weight loss goals ...

Wild Bill,

Nice job lossing the lbs. That's about the size of a 4th grader. Hope you enjoyed your day off. You deserved it. I thought about it this morning, but starting feeling guilty around 1 o'clock.

Great rowing all season!

Ahhh Guilt. The great motivator. Actually, I'm close to taking some time off too. In addition to the necessary recovery process, when fatigue sets in, technique goes out the window. At least it does with me.
To all hands, well done with your amazing accomplishments. And Dan, thanks again for inviting me to join the team. Reading this forum is as inspiring as watching the meter total steadily increase. ROW STRONG!!!

A ten year old? I was thinking a Rottweiler, or a St. Bernard.

One thrilling result of all this rowing is that my blood pressure and pulse are back down where they should be.

Outstanding accomplishment Bill, It's great that you have met your goals!

Kona, I felt your pain yesterday, my 14 year son had a snow day.... you would have thought he would have shoveled the snow for Dad before he got home from work.....No such luck.

It's Spring Break next week so I'll be misssing a few days. When I get back I hope to rested for the big finish for the season.

Everyone is doing a great job!!!!

Joining Luna-Tics

Post by TeresaR » March 28th, 2009, 2:06 am

Hi, I tried to sign up for the WRC with the Luna-Tics and was not successful. At least I think I wasn't. It said I couldn't sign up because the deadline had passed. What do I do? This is the first time I have tried to sign up for a team event. I have done the holiday challenges for the past two years and decided to do the WRC for the continued motivation to keep rowing into the 2010 season. I hope someone can help me before tomorrows deadline.

WRC 2009 Update: Team Progress Thru 3.27.09

Post by Kona2 » March 28th, 2009, 12:19 pm

Missed the WRC team sign up deadline? Never fear, we'll be glad to add you to the year round team roster for the Luna-Tics! If you believe you were trying to sign up within the designated time frame, and the website wouldn't take your registration, give the folks at Concept2 a shout and see what can be done.
We are a group of folks who row all year round, and many participate in every challenge. In fact, the challenge times are when we make our best progress towards our lunar destination!

Take a look at some of the very recent pages of our now extensive team forum - we have some pretty inspirational stories that our lunar crew shares with each other. A common thread is that we help motivate each other throughout the rowing year! We only really started the forum pages a little over a year ago (even though the team has been in existence since 2003). We are just a bit looney from time to time, focused on getting to the moon and beyond - and focused on staying healthy using rowing as a part of our exercise regimes. Many of us participate in other sports as well. So - consider the year round team if you missed the deadline. We'll cheer you onward!

Today's challenge update finds the Luna-Tics in 8th place overall, with 71 crew members. As predicted, there were just a few biggie team updates of meter counts for those teams that do a once a week update - and some near the midnight hour joining of teams.

You all rowed an astounding 552,683 m yesterday! Wowzer, half a million at a clip - we're zooom zooom zoooming thru space! Every meter counts !

Thank you to all who are rowing with the Luna-Tics - either as part of the WRC team or on the year round team. It's all good.
