Hi folks,

We will be in Sedona for a week at the end of the month. I would like to drop in somewhere and do a session once or twice while I am there. Does anyone know of a 24 hour fitness or whatever in hte Sedona area?

It's all well and good to post the link to the Rower Finder, but I'm sure what the OP was hoping for was some information from a local about where a good place to find a rower was.

The Rower Finder is nice, but it does not really give you any information about access, price, or anything else. For example, I am currently looking for an erg to use while I am in Louisville, KY on June 21st. The Rower Finder lists several places that have ergs, but it is highly doubtful that information will be useful if the places that have them don't allow public access.

BTW, I have sent an email to the coach of the UL Rowing team asking about possible access to the Cardinal Boathouse on that date, as I will be with a group of folks (some of whom are fitness fanatics) who might be interested in doing the Solstice Row with me

Often there are C2s in a health club which is not listed on Rower Finder. Generally I do a Google for venues near where I am staying, as sometimes I don't have a car. Then I call or email ahead of time and the person on the desk checks the machine room to see if they actually have one, and whether they take drop-ins. That didn't work well for Sedona-no 24 hour Fitness etc. Only spas.

I got 2 names from the C2 Rower Finder. The first is Integrated Combative Systems: a training facility for police, Marines, etc. I called them and asked about dropping in. I explained I was an old lady and only wanted to use the erg, and I wasn't bothered about being in a hard-core macho venue. He was hesitant until I explained that my grandson (the soon-to-be-Marine officer) is my rowing soulmate, and I understand the rigors of hard work.

The Combative Systems guy was kind enough to give me his mobile # and say if I couldn't find an erg he would work something out with me.

He gave me the name of a spa/resort nearby which might have an erg and I called them. The desk lady looked in the exercise room and they do have one. $20 gets me in for the day, pool, jacuzzi and all. They aren't on C2's list.

Bottom line: you have to explore all your options, including a forum inquiry, to find what you need, especially if you are travelling to another country. I suggest if anyone finds one somewhere not listed that he/she go to the C2 site and list the venue. That helps everyone.

I found a nice one in Sedona/Oak Creek Arizona. So I didn't have to go to the Integrated Combative Systems facility to get my vacation erg sessions. Combative Systems might have let me have a day pass, however old ladies aren't their primary business.

The Snap Fitness owner said he thought he was already listed on the C2 site but he wasn't. Is there a way for us users to list places? If not, how do club owners do their own listings?

The one I found:
Sedona-Village of Oak Creek Snap Fitness
6560 AZ-179
La Plaza Shopping Center
Village of Oak in the La Plaza mall
Sedona-Village of Oak Creek, AZ 86351
Phone: 928-284-0554

2 nice new Model D's

Separate aerobics and weight rooms, no showers.
$10 for a day pass; weekly passes also available
