Ordered today!

Post by n1lul » March 5th, 2009, 10:44 pm

I ordered my Model D w/ PM-4 today!! I had to wait until I got my bonus to take the plunge.

I have been reading everything I could about erging the last couple of weeks. I am tired of reading, I want to ROW. :)

I got the confirmation email, so it should be here early next week.

It is going to be a long weekend.

If one wanted to lay waste to all the energy in the body in the shortest possible time, rowing would be the way to do it. (Kiesling)

n1 - Congratulations! Take advantage of the support on the forums - there is a great group of people out there willing and able to help you on your vogage.

If you want to take the next step, try out online rowing with RowPro - there almost always a good gang erging at any time of day or night....

Cheers. Patrick.

Row Pro

Post by n1lul » March 5th, 2009, 11:33 pm

Yea, I looked into Row Pro and it looks really cool and a should be a great training partner. I am going to use it from day one. The ability to race on-line is a great motivator.

Sorry

I started a blog over on the UK site and forgot this post.

Yes, I got her from C2 very quickly. I am working 12 hour night shifts , so not a huge amount of time on the erg.

Not as easy as it looks! My form needs work and I have to get used to using my arms for some other than swinging back and forth like in running.

Also I seem to be favoring my right side, again form issue. I dropped the streachers down three notches today and made a big difference. I could get a lot more leg bend and more distance on the drive. I may try going strapless, since I have read that will expose form issues quickly.

I still need to find the best damper setting. I have really powerful legs, so I do not know if a higher damper setting would be a better fit. I have lots of time to figure it out. Right now I have the damper set so that the drag factor is around 130.

I am VERY happy with the purchase, I can not wait to get things sorted out and watch my times and weight drop.

Starting the weight loss program that the UK site made up for me Monday. Looks very doable, 30 pounds in 18 weeks.

Got Row Pro and thought it was very cool. I need to work on where I have it set up so I do not have to look over to see the computer. I also have to remember to turn off the sleep function.

8, 872 meters +/- so far, There are some lost meters on the PM-4, since I did not have the Log Card in all the way. Sneaking up on a million.

I have been pretty good at keeping up my blog, so if you are interested pop on over to the UK site and check it out.

Thanks
