Joining team for WRC

Post by winonab » March 3rd, 2009, 5:13 pm

Hi Pat,
I am a newbie to rowing and erging, having been introduced to it during cardiac rehab in Nov 2008 following Mitral Valve repair Sept 17th at age 71. My congenital MVP rather rapidly went bad in June, I was in worsening cardiac failure by the time surgery was scheduled, and the repair went well.
I am one grateful lady.
Bought my own C2 the beginning of Jan and have been using it and learning from the Forum posters. Been pushing myself gently. Did the Valentine Challenge, and have started on the March Madness Challenge. Will pace myself based on how I feel after erging several days in a row.
I found your invitation to join TEAM TIMBUK2 WRC2009 the other night, and not knowing what WRC meant, nosed around C2 website until I found out. Your team sounds like a fun group, and being a Mended Heart survivor, your logo hit a responsive chord.
Looking forward to a fun and healthy spring erging away.
Winona
Live well, long, and joyously,
Winona

It's time for the World Rowing Challenge!
The World Rowing Challenge (WRC), previously known as the North American Rowing Challenge, begins this weekend! It's time to start recruiting team members. Challenge dates are March 15–April 15, 2009.

Create or join a team and row as many meters as you can for great prizes. We will be awarding four new Concept2 Indoor Rowers at the end of the challenge and 40 individuals will receive a Concept2 Sports Bag filled with valuable workout goodies. Complete challenge details can be found by going to concept2.com/wrc.

What's new this year?
Team members who have their own logbooks must indicate in their logbooks that they are actively participating in the World Rowing Challenge. (See the How To Join a Team: Information for Team Members page for more information.)

Important: Active participation must by indicated by midnight ET on March 28.

If you have any questions, just send an email to ranking@concept2.com. We wish you many happy meters and lots of fun while rowing for the WRC!

The five S's of sports training are: stamina, speed, strength, skill, and spirit; but the greatest of these is spirit."
