After my initail taste of Malbec I have been on a quest to find the perfect one. 7 tried 3 good ones. Problem is it's starting to interfer with my rowing. To many at dinner and the 5 AM rowing is history.

Row an extra K for Rae!

Post by Kona2 » February 14th, 2009, 2:12 am

Chris' mother, Rae Smith, was a member of the Luna-Tic team last season. Some of you may remember seeing Rae's name on the stats sheet! It was pretty easy to figure out that AJ was related to Chris, but I had no clue that Rae was Chris's mom until I started cheering Rae on for her daily 1K and Chris let me know who Rae was! Chris affectionately referred to her mom as 1K-a-day Rae as she would row that one K and that was enough. I thought it was great that she'd row the 1K!

How about rowing an extra K for Rae in your next rowing set? I think it would be a fitting memorial for a teammate!

Chris -- you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I will definitely do a special 1k in honor of 1k-a-day Rae.

Done.

Thank you, Rae, for reminding us just how precious every injury-free K is that we can row.

In your memory.

Chris -

I am so sorry for your loss, as you may remember my own mother passed away a year ago this week. (I keep her picture posted here, because she was my inspiration in so many ways.)

My heart goes out to you. My prayer for you is that her memories will be a never ending source of blessing for you and your family.

I'm dedicating 1k/per day to Rae all next week.

Gina
