I just got a wind damper ring fro my model B from Concept 2.
Since it is one whole ring,it seems to me I can either cut or saw a slit in the ring and then install it or I can remove the 2 screws on the flywheel side of the cage and then slide it in.
I have no idea what will happen if I remove those screws and how big a job it is to do it this way.
Any feedback wil be appreciated
Installing a speed ring on a model B
I don't know what the C2 speed ring looks like, but I know that you can remove those two screws and pull the support arm away from the wheel slightly. If it is thin enough it should slip in pretty easily. You can remove the entire wheel by taking the screws on the opposite side out also. You may want to call C2 and get some advice from the pros. C2jonw may see this thread and offer that advice here.
Mark Underwood. Rower first, cyclist too.
Before you attempt to untighten the two bolts from the right arm (on the damper side of flywheel assembly), be sure to use one hand to cradle the bottom of the flywheel to hold it in place so it doesn't sag under its own weight when you release those bolts. Then slip the speed ring through the gap between the right arm and the flywheel assembly and retighten the two bolts.

It's a thin plastic ring with so slipping it in should not be a problem, once it's in place it can be fastened with plastic ties.

I just installed a "speed ring" on my model B. It came with instructions and was very easy to install. It makes a remarkable difference in rowing. Prior to installing the "speed ring", there was a tremendous amount of resistance. I really had t work at rowing and it was causing knee pains. Now, the rowing is much smoother and not as noisy. I recommend it. It is PN 371. It is like having a new machine.
