Hey, everybody, we're getting a nice little flurry of signups before the deadline. AWESOME!

So far the JVTC has done wonders to keep me motivated during one of my least favorite months of the year. (The temp is supposed to drop to -12F tonight, -30-ish wind chill. No wonder I'm not fond of January.)

Hope it's doing the same for you!

Cheers,
Ann

It will be nice to have the extra help. Welcome everyone!

Hey, rowing IS a great way to stay warm, Ann. Just wish I could only figure out a way to hook the C2 up to a generator so I could cut my electric bill to offset what my heating bill will be this month!

You guys are doing great.
Ann, you're killing it! I think we were both around the 100K mark this time last year... seems like you're pulling for the both of us this year. Thanks!

I apologize for not having more meters in by now. Really thought I'd be farther along. Been having some lower back trouble lately, but have been doing my PT and am starting to feel a little better.

Mike, Ann & Jeff are kicking it & John, well he's an animal.

As far as I'm concerned, everyone who's put in a single meter in this doldrum-y month is kicking it. B) (And Michelle, you went mano-a-grille with a Jeep and lived to tell, so you're in a kickin-it league of your own.)

Keep it up, Motos! Almost two-thirds of the way through January, whew.

Ciao,
Duca

Okay, I'm on the board. Pathetic as it is. Even sadder is the fact that it took me three days to accumulate 1300m!
My workouts these days consist of 45-60min. on the stationary bike and some medium weight leg presses. Then I get on the erg and just move through the motions of rowing, without any resistance, for as long as I can handle it. Then I go to physio for some IMS, which is crazy stuff that I've become totally addicted to.

One step at a time, Michelle. You'll get there. Just don't go too fast or hard & hurt yourself. I once saw a chiropractor who used IMS. I found it quite relaxing.

Nice going, Michelle! Every meter counts, you know, and if you're not thrilled with your total, just have a look at Crazy John's tally and know that you're covered. B)

Only a week and change left. I've grown pretty fond of this volume of erging... hope I don't slack off too quickly come Feb. I don't think there are any February challenges, but I may try to cook one up myself to keep the moto-vation going.

Anybody else up for some sort of home-grown challenge once the JVTC ends? Plenty of time to ponder... I'm just tossing it out there for consideration.

Ciao,
Duca

I would be up for a challenge. These things help me to stay motivated.

Is team Moto going to compete in the WRC? Maybe we could have our own competition as a warm up for the WRC?

Hey team, We are almost to the end. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!! I think the team has done a great job considering the fact that we had so many injuries. I want to thank everbody for the efforts put forward and sacrifices made to give the best they could in this challenge. I'm proud to be a member of this team.
almost over, Crazy John
I think I'm getting to old for this type of punishment. I do enjoy a challenge!!

And this team is damned glad to have you, CJ! :D You've definitely inspired me to keep up the pace. I'm planning on three easy 6K sessions today, wedged in among a pile of household chores so that the rows will seem like breaks.

Kevin, I'll sign us up for the WRC when the time comes, and I'll cook something up for February if no one else does. Maybe a 2009 Tweener of 200,900 meters between the JVTC and WRC? That averages out to just shy of 4.8K/day, which sounds like enough to keep me from going totally sedentary but not so much that I'll get fed up. And of course, it is all about me. B)

OK, I suppose it's not all about me, so if anyone has a different pre-WRC challenge idea, let's hear it.

We sure are glad to have you John. You've raised the bar for all of us!
We're proud to have you on our side, like you said, us throttle twisters have got to stick together!

Duca, I'm in for whatever you dream up for Feb. I've gotta stay motivated.

I think I threw out an upper rib sleeping last night, so I'm being lazy today. Hopefully will get it popped back in and get back on the horse tomorrow. For now, I'm just going to pour myself a nice glass of scotch and dream of dry roads.

CJ - you are an inspiration, certifiable probably but inspiring none the less! :?

You guys have been very motivating for me during this challenge (especially Hokie nipping at my heels!). I sure wouldn't want to keep up this pace every month but what a great way to start the year. Thank you!

All right, motoids, let's do this. We're hovering at #21 right now, sure would like to see us end up in the top twenty.

I know we can do it. I passed 300K last night, which seemed like a ridiculous goal when I set it back on Jan 1. Believe me, I'm no monument to fitness or commitment. If I can pile on a few extra meters, you can, too. B)

Five days left. Let's show these cagers what's what, what?

Ciao,
Duca
