Greetings - I hope this fits under this category.
I was planing on transporting a single from NJ to MN on top of my Honda CRV in a few months from now.
Does this sound foolish? I bought a Noble transport rack, but haven't used it yet. Is it sufficient for a semi-cross country trek?
How much would it cost for a company to ship it instead?
Thanks for any input!

how long is it?
I've transported a 17 and a half foot kayak about the same distance on a Yakima rack. It might not be ideal, but shipping would be expensive and risky. I'd rather be in charge of the boat myself. You probably need to tie a red flag on it in the back.

I have a mini truck as they are now called. I haul my two shells all over on my rack. Here is my wat, two straps on the front before and after the rack, one strap after the back rib,one bungee to the fornt and one to the back attached to each bumper, open your ports, weather expands and contracts air volumes, I dimpled my hull once, long red streamers and boat covers. At every pit stop check you rigging. Steer to the right when passing RVs and big rigs and you should arrive without a issue. Good luck.
