Wow to all the team mate accomplishments these past few days. We had a great view of the huge moon last night as we were driving home from our long trip to CA. Getting back to normal now, and will hit the rower in the morning (Ben did some meters today even.)
On the mug issue, does it have to be clear glass? I have found one we could have our design put on that is almost identical to the C2 mug except that it is frosted glass. Only thing is it costs almost $18 plus shipping. If we can we go with a ceramic coffee mug there are a lot of options, and they are all cheaper. Another option is to upload a design to a site which sells this stuff, and let people apply it to whatever merchandise they want- mugs, t-shirts, anything.
No matter what, I think we need to get written permission or acknowledgement from C2 to be completely above board with this.

Marathon Mug
Kristine - if we get around the designing our own logo, I am sure that we can use the same logo via Cafe Press for you to get a coffee mug. The other beverage mugs will be clear or frosted glass...and we'll have to order them in a batch.
I'm not seeing Ben's meters in the logbook yet...but am hopeful we can celebrate that he's crossed the 100K mark!

Re: The Looney Full Moonie Marathon Mug
Does this mean if I row a marathon really soon (like this weekend) and ask really nicely - there's still a chance of getting a mug?? (Will I be laughed at if it takes me 8 hours to do a marathon? )Kona2 wrote:
Like many things that have gone by the wayside, the Concept2 marathon mugs will soon be no more. They are indeed running out their inventory,
Go for it!
Yes - Dena H indicated they were closing their inventory out, and would respond to requests by email denah@concept2.com to give out the last mugs. I wouldn't wait too long....and no one laughs at the time it takes...just keep the monitor active when you take breaks!

So did Dena say that they were just not interested in making a C2 marathon design available through Cafepress? Or is there hope? Ideally, they would make some kind of marathon design available once the mugs are gone. The pin is also nice, and in keeping with the Holiday Challenge pins theme, but it is still cool to cool off with a cold one in your mug for all to see !

What Concept2 Marketing Said
I did pursue the Cafe Press idea right away. Unfortunately, Cafe Press doesn't "do" glassware. They are willing to offer a beer stein (not for me), but no glasses.
The next option might be to check in with Cafe Press. My sense is that Concept2 views Cafe Press as a good partner, and one with whom they have already shared logos.
Perhaps the email campaign to get the glassware should go to Cafe Press. If you go to their website, go to the email us about a product you would like portion, and send them a message. Maybe if enough of us send it in, then we can get them to carry it.

Thx, Jan ... I just love a good rabble-rousing project ... something along these lines, y'think? :Kona2 wrote: Cafe Press doesn't "do" glassware. They are willing to offer a beer stein (not for me), but no glasses.

Dear Cafe Press:
There are many Concept 2 rowers who are disappointed with the company's decision to discontinue offering their popular glass marathon mugs. Might it be possible to add a glass mug option to your vast selection of coffee mugs and steins? Thank you for your consideration ...
Chris
Here in the Netherlands there nothing like glasses mugs pins etc etc. Non of the challenges are rewarded with C2 goodies....
The only thing we have here are Million Meter club rewards:
1MM Certificate and T-shirt
2,3,4MM Certificate and Socks, Towel or T-shirt
5MM Certificate and Longsleeve shirt
6,7,8,9MM Certificate and Socks, Towel or T-shirt
10MM Certificate and 10MM Sweater
11,12,13,14MM Certificate and Socks, Towel or T-shirt
15M Certificate and row-shorts
16,17,18,19MM Certificate and Socks, Towel or T-shirt
20MM Certificate and row-shorts and T-shirt
two conclusions....
Row-shorts will only last 5MM
Sorry Dan, Concept2.NL doesn't expect us to cross the 20MM mark...

Kona2 - I've paddled a "bow babe" around in my canoe once or twice before, but never a whole flock of chicks. Love the ranger hat on Snoopy. But it better have a chin strap and be securely on for later this week when Will H whooooshes by..........

HM?
David H - Good thing I had my tag deflector shield up... I think the tag bounced back on Chris.
My style is to consistently row for an hour every day I can, and then I've got other things I want/need to do with my time. Otherwise its a choice between a shortage of calories and severe shivering when outside in this below weather or making a run for jelly donuts. I can't risk calorie shortage since I'm not sure my car will start. And I simply must have enough calories to keep cutting and splitting wood to keep the wood stove going. I did an extra 5K last evening on the paddle adapter because it was too cold to be out in my woodworking shop. High temps are suppose to remain below zero here until Friday, so maybe there will be more paddle adapter meters the next few evenings.
