Moving On
Thanks Jan, its been kind of fun doing this. If you must bring up portages.... there are 43 on the real adventure. Some are pretty tough. When we head in from Sarah there is a particularly memorable one; about a 100 foot rise in elevation taken at about 45% grade (heartbreak hill) with 50 pounds on your back/shoulders, and then the usual 1/4 mile of rocks and boulders and slippery bedrock and fallen trees, etc. But on this virtual trip; we don't do no stinking portaging!
Tony - Grrrrea8's!
The next day of our trip we travel the farthest of any day. It will be 21.5 kilometers back to Sarah Lake. Our more southernly route than the way out will take us from Crooked Lake thru Tuck Lake, and beautiful Robinson Lake, and back in the far west bay of Sarah Lake. We will be camped on an island and a thunderstorm is threatening and will prevent us from having fish for supper. Oh well, its been 5 nights in a row for eating fish anyway. The rain fly is set and this is where supper is served and we watch this mild storm pass by. The next 4 photos tell this story. http://outdoors.webshots.com/photo/2269 ... t=outdoors

Don't you have any chocolate pie? I'm really craving some chocolate pie. Fish and brussels sprouts just aren't cutting it.
No chocolate pie Captain K... Many times we can find enough blueberries to make a cobbler, but not this trip. But down in the bottom of the food pack is something just for this occasion. For dessert there will be instant chocolate pudding made with Bailey's Irish Creme!

Re: Thanks
Hi, Denise, and duck friends ... it's all about having fun and, sometimes, not much about rowing ... as has been pointed out on occasion!Surf Scoter wrote:Thanks for your comment on the Ducks Team Room. You've got a lively group here!! Nice stats and all. denise
I got my C2 motivational marathon mug in yesterday's mail ... and christened it this evening with some Killian's. I'm just so danged pleased to have finished that first (and possibly last) full marathon!
Love that free Concept2 stuff ... almost as motivational as one's peers!
