Just getting on this forum is hard work - says my password de-activated.

Not sure if my meters are being counted towards this years challenge. I can only see last years JVC meters listed.

Certainly is a lot of confusion.

OKAY TEAM TIMBUK2

Still no word from Pat. But remember at end of December she was saying she really needed a break.

We need to keep cheering each other on!

While we don't know if the stats are up to date - See messages above - - - at this point it looks like we are in 12th place with 42 members. We have rowed over a million meters in seven days. Whew! Our teams average meters per team member is greater than 2nd place Team Canada - but they have many, many more members so I think we are doing good.

Jeff R and Chris H have hit the 70,000 meter mark already. I am impressed!

GO TEAM!

Denise

A big HELLO to all Timbuktu team members!

I'm new to the team and I haven't been rowing long, but I'm enjoying every meter & hope to help in the January Challenge.

All the best,

Paul

Over a million meters in eight days is great! That's like , uh... uh... a whole lot of meters per day!! (I prepare taxes, so it's a good thing I'm not expected to know math.) Anyway, I think this team is doing really well, and I'm sure there are more great things to come!

Welcome Aboard Paul!

Joining our team this fall after I started rowing was the best thing I did! It sure helps keep you motivated when you are getting started. The camaraderie is wonderful as well.

Looking at the team standings this morning, we're only about 86,000 meters behind the next team in 11th place.

I reckon we can catch them up over the weekend and move into the top ten early next week....anyone else up for the challenge???

Happy rowing!

The weekend would be a great time to row some extra meters!

With the # of team members I am sure we can meet that challenge Paul!

By the way Paul, my son is stationed in Rota Spain for the Navy. Don't know where that is compared to where Valencia is at. He has been there since February '06. I think he gets to come back home for a month in March.

Off to row before work. Everyone have a good Friday!

Hi Everyone,

Trying to row as much as I can! I was wondering about our fearless leader. I hope she is ok. Maybe it's all a test to get us to row more.

Welcome to everyone who is new. I am new this year too!

Hi Timbuk2'ers,

I'm happy to be erging with you all for this JVTC. I'm quite impressed with several of you: Chris H, Jeff R, William F and Bryan S, you guys rock. I'm not worthy.
Looking down our roster, I see four of us in the 50,000's, five in the 40,000's and six in the 30,000's. Quite fine.
My personal goal for this challenge is 180,000 meters and to surpass my first million meters. No problem.
I'd like to see us in the top ten though. Looking at the current standings and the competition, which you'd have to admit is pretty stiff, I think we can realistically finish in the top ten. What do you say? Let's go for it.

Stu
