I'll have him post up laterC3H6O3 wrote:Mel,
Where's Sean? Is he in?
I am having some lower back issues in the last week, don't know if it's better to hold off, or row to make it better ... hummmmmm
Happy 2009 folks, oh and what total do we need to beat to better last year's total? Greg? Anne?

Farmer's daughter girly-girl who loves to offroad. Bush Truck is on 31 LTB's with winches front and back and other goodies :) Currently wheel a KTM 250 EXC!
Happy to hear from everyone! I slogged through my first 12K today, only mildly hungover from NYE festivities.
OK, stats:
Last year we ranked 14th out of 227 teams.
Total MOTO meters: 7,096,771
Average per person: 150,995
We had 47 members last year, back when anyone on a team was automatically considered a participant in the JVTC. So far this year we've got 12 signed up for the challenge.
More people, please! And more meters! And for me, less beer.

Hey! Good to see some of last year's crew! ...and some new people.
I'm apologizing for my slow start. I was on my way home from New Year's slacking, thinking about how I needed to get on the erg, when we stopped for lunch and I ended up getting punted across a crosswalk by a Jeep Cheroke. It sucked! It still does actually. But at least I'm just bruised and sore, nothing broken or torn.
So you won't see a huge pile of metres out of me...yet. I'll make it up though!

Oh, no! Glad it's not worse than bruised and sore, but sorry it's that. Team MOTO is chugging along just fine, no need to worry about meters. Worry about healing!michelle wrote:I was on my way home from New Year's slacking, thinking about how I needed to get on the erg, when we stopped for lunch and I ended up getting punted across a crosswalk by a Jeep Cheroke.
I'm about to go phone in another 12K. I just made a blog post on the C2 UK forum in praise of junk meters... hope I find a riled-up response or two by the time I'm done with today's junk session.
Carry on, MOTOs!
Thanks!!!LiteTruckRider wrote:Welcome to Team Moto!Coach wrote:Newbie here......thought I would drop in and introduce myself.
I have been using an erg since last fall off and on, and am now ready to start hitting it hard getting ready for the season.
I signed up for the team, and am ready to rock.
I am fighting a heck of a cold right now......but will be hitting it hard starting on Monday!!!
Sorry, Coach! Figures C2 would schedule a high-meter challenge for cold and flu season, eh?Coach wrote:I am fighting a heck of a cold right now...
And our injured reserve list grows: I sliced off a little chunk of my finger on the chopping board this morning, but figured it'd be fine for rowing... until I realized at about 4K that my hand was starting to slide around on the handle, gak.
I'll spare you the gory photos, but if your morbid curiosity gets the better of you, head over to the UK forum. There's something poetic, almost beautiful, about a blood-spattered Hello Kitty BandAid.
I'm heading off to Walgreen's to pick up some stronger first-aid, maybe some of that second-skin stuff. The JVTC must go on!

Jeezus, Michelle. Glad you're OK. Were you on foot or on the bike?michelle wrote:Hey! Good to see some of last year's crew! ...and some new people.

I was on foot... then in the air, then on my ass! It was weird though...I've had worse crashes in moto and just gotten back on my bike, rode to the pits and said "I'm done for the day." But with this, it was so quick and unexpected and with no moto-adrenalin I was pretty freaked out. All the pain with none of the fun.
Anyway, I'll be fine soon. I might even try some light metres today or tomorrow.

Hey Steve! Season? There was no moto season this year... no races, just hacking around. The rowing season kicked ass though. I've made huge improvements over the previous year. Then I finished my season by heading to Boston to race a double in the Head of the Charles which is a major regatta. My partner and I were hoping for top 10 but came in 11th. We're pretty happy with it though, considering the number of bigshots that were in that race. But I'm feeling strong (aside from this stupid car accident thing) and this coming year will be even better.C3H6O3 wrote:Michelle,
How was the season?
What are your plans for this year?
What are everyone's biking, rowing, athletic goals???
