Happy New Year, Lunas! I'm looking forward to hearing of your successful voyage to the moon! Did anyone see how pretty it looked last night all snuggled up next to Venus in the sky?

Cheers to your 2009 quest!

You're not showing up on team log for JVC

Post by Kona2 » January 1st, 2009, 8:21 pm

Our team challenge meters aren't syncing up with the team roster that appears when you click on Luna-Tics in the team JVC challenge. Not sure what's happening there - but 36 team members have meters there...and only about 15 have meters on the challenge page. I'll ask Concept2.

Update - doesn't look like the team meters portion for any of the teams is matching up with the individual rosters.

Total JVC meters on the day = 419,522

Right now we show fewer meters in the Team Standings page because of the new rules that we must designate that we are participating.

We're rockin' and rowin' now! We'll sort out the JVC items, but it would help if your name is highlighted above - just check and make sure you've selected participation in the Luna-Tics JVC. Then we can count 100K more meters! :D

Total meters on the day = 345,623 m

Well ... not exactly

It is very nice to see this posting, but the accolades are premature. I did row the requisite 42,195 m yesterday, but not all in one sitting - which is, after all, the rule. I did the meters in three separate sessions over the course of the day.

I am training and working up to doing a Full Marathon one of these days, but it hasn't happened yet

In any event, those meters sure went a long way to overcoming the aftereffects of the frozen mango margaritas which seemed like such a good idea at the time (I should have restricted myself to the virtual drinks here).

Now I have to do my best to keep up with Will S and Kiba (holy mackeral  ) during the JVC.

OK, enough chit chat for the moment - back to the erg ...

Don't sell yourself short. Completing a marathon distance all in one day is impressive in itself. You are well on your way to doing it all at once. Congrats to you on mastering the meters in one day. You make us Loonies proud!

Happy New Year!

Post by DuluthMoose » January 2nd, 2009, 10:46 pm

Well gang, I'm back after spending New Year's at my Mom's about 250 miles south. My plan was to log on the wireless that is normally available at that apartment complex and keep tabs on the LUNA-TIC party, but no wireless this trip. ARRRW! (some pirate expletives)

So HAPPY NEW YEAR LUNA-TICS! (somewhat late). May you meet and exceed all your rowing resolutions for 2009!

And great job on the arrangements and entertainment Dan. Four hands Mozart on one classical guitar was amazing!

On to the JVC.... Almost the third day and I've yet to row a meter.... But to help the meters go by, I've decided to virtually row my Quetico trip route that I canoed this past summer (143 kilometers in 9 days) for the first part of the JVC. So if any of you pass by my campsite on Sarah Lake (at 33 kilometers), you're welcome to stop in. There's fresh lake trout frying in the pan.....

Been playing out in the snow, making space invaders, have we? (... nah, K-2's K-9's wouldn't allow this to happen!)

Can we just "beam up" the crew members who aren't on board yet? Hopefully their tricorders are working.

I'd love to share some of Darryl's trout ... I have never cooked fish that looks as good as that.
