William H with (35,822 m) to go! Red zone, man, red zone!
Well ... I did it! Hit the 2 MM mark for the season.

When I started rowing this season on July 24, 2008, I weighed something more than 136 kilos and was having a hard time rowing 5,000 meters/day.

Today, I weigh 103 kilos and feel like I have a new lease on life.

But this post is not about me (bet I had you fooled, eh?) it's about the constant motivation I draw from the accomplishments of everyone else on the team.

Thanks, team - life is good!

Now on to the JVC

William H,

Congratulations on the 2 mm mark. I am almost there for my lifetime meters and you did it in a season. That is simply amazing! Congratulations as well on the weight loss. Now you're a lean mean rowing machine. I'll make an extra toast to you at our virtual New Year's Party for your fantastic accomplishments.

Amazing weight loss. It appears that you've lost 33 kilos! Converted that's approximately 70 pounds!! Terrific job. Keep up the good work. A great inspiration for all of us. Tom

Amazing weight loss -you've lost 33 kilos! Converted that's approximately 70 pounds!! Terrific job. Keep up the good work. A great inspiration for all of us and with your 675,000 + meters for the Holdiay Challenge. You set the bar pretty high for the rest of us as the fellow to (try) to keep up with into the JVC.

Wondering.......in addition to rowing, what else did you do to accomplish such a wonderful weight loss?

January Virtual Challenge

Post by Kona2 » December 29th, 2008, 5:58 pm

Image

Last year, with 74 team members participating, we came in 4th in the JVC.

LUNA-TICS 14,243,852 #:74, avg: 192,484

I'm not quite sure how many are on our roster for the 2009 effort, but I do know that we are going to have some outrageous times. After all, we are STARTING with the virtual party in the team room. Chris (just27) is taking drink orders, so if you are new to our crew.....get your order in! Dan (Toothdoc) is our barkeep for the event!

Every meter counts! There are some Herculean efforts (Jane did about a million meters herself last year!), and some will fit rowing in where they can according to their own personal schedules. It's all good!

Prepare to be caught up in the lunar frenzy!

But then there is also a drive, a release and a recovery... just remember strong on the drive, clean release and slow up the slide. Beware of crabs - might be lurking if one has too much of the creature at our virtual party!

You are such a rower, Gina ... always good to keep us reeled in to the fact that this IS, after all, a rowing group. (Albeit, virtual!)

I just had to get in one last row before the end of the year, and the upcoming two week trip. Will stop by for the party, though. Now out to shovel the foot of snow that accumulated since this morning.
