Congrats, Mike, on the FM (er, seeing you're a Brit, perhaps I should specify Full Marathon, not to be confused with the Monty version). How does your body feel today ... will you have enough energy to carve whatever you roasted at your house? (Anyone ever done a vegetarian Christmas? Tofudabeast?)

I, for one, am taking today off and not even looking at the rower ... I've been feeling like "the little engine that could" for the past month. (But, thrillingly, haven't gained any of the usual holiday season ballast.)

Best wishes to y'all, for whatever you celebrate (or don't) today ... it was a great challenge, with some awesome efforts. Thanks, again, to Jan for her tireless tracking and postings (and the fun, sometimes cryptic, stuff that she just makes up!).

Merry Christmas and happy 4th day / 5th night of Hannukah to all. Inspired (or perhaps perspired!) by my fellow Lunatics, I couldn't let just 2979 meters keep me from the 1.5 million mark on the last day of the challenge. I began by attempting 6789m and ended up with 9768 - quite amused by the way the digits rearranged themselves. My rib was a bit sore this morning, but is feeling ok now.

I also want thank Concept 2 for sponsoring this challenge and providing funds in this difficult economy. In light of the recent scandals, it is really refreshing to be part of something good.

Best wishes for a happy and prosperous 2009.

And HAPPY HOLIDAYS to you, also, our friendly rivals from across the forum. See y'all at the JVC ... you wasted us last year ... so, oil your chain-thingie, and change your monitor battery ... the race is on for 2009!

Congratulations Gina for the 1.5M!
And thanks for finding and posting the card!

Happy rowing!

Andrea
P.S. I was unable to do the additional 7km to reach 250k for the Holiday Challenge... Will "keep" them for the JVC ;).

For some reason, this forum is not allowing Keith to post a URL (picture) because he is a new user...so here are the pics he was trying to post in his entry above:

This would be images of #1 son wife and mother in law. Plus various shots around Dublin, with a few of the local lads having a bit of fun with the Yank tourist.
