I can't find the answers
I just started back rowing. I thoughly love it. I love getting off my Model C with PM2+ having had a great workout!
I want to follow my progress and I've seen some credit card style / log cards that can be plugged into the latest monitors. Are these log cards supported by the PM2+ or do I need PM3 or PM4 monitor and is it really worth the upgrade?
Everyone's thoughts are appreciated.

The pm2+ is quite a bit more accurate, with immediate display, starts not lagged, and an even countdown of meters. The time out is 4 minutes, vs now being 2, the drag factor shows while you're rowing, the display is much easier to see and to read. The monitor starts when you do, vs the pm3/4 that start on their own and often mess up your times.
I like the pm2+ monitor #1 and rate it the best one by far.
The only advantage to a pm3/4 is the stroke profile, but that's optional, and workouts are cumbersome to set up, vs quick and easy on the pm2+.
I would still be using the pm2 if the modelD worked with it, but unfortunately does not.

With a PM2+ and a serial cable there's still support for that in RowPro with the RowPro logbook, but if I were you I'd sell the PM2+ on eBay and use the profit to fund an upgrade to a PM4 with a copy of RowPro.
There's no difference in the maths used in the monitor or the accuracy of the data (despite what John says). There is a difference in how the PM4 (and PM3) react when rowing intervals (which is the reason for his gripe).
The main feature of the PM3/4 is that it's easier to use. You can save favourite workouts on the logcard, you can save your top 5 favourite workouts in the custom list on the PM3/4. You also get excellent support for online racing using RowPro. Programming the PM3/4 is easy even if the workout isn't pre-saved.
Concept2 are still adding new features to the PM4. For the PM3 the upgrades to firmware are mostly just bug fixing.
