to the moon

Post by Calamity » December 1st, 2008, 5:05 am

Welcome and wlecome back all. Debbie and I are working on the holiday challenge and trying to get Orion into the kids club one. We choose ou Chistmas tree location based on where we could still have the rowing machine usable. We have a nice rowing view of the tree.
Karyn, I believe the last time comeone posted moon meters we were 1/3 of the way there, but I am not looking through all the posts to find out.

Uh huh, my college-crew son was giving me critique and pointers over the holiday and I did get a bit carried away while trying to follow his coaching suggestions! (The "whoosh" sound that he makes on the erg is SO much different than mine ... )

Kona2,

Yes that was 75 and 76 on the day before and Thanksgiving. To much turkey led to days off on Fri-Sat and travel on Sun. Back in FL after a whirlwind trip to Oregon. Got up at 6AM in OR and went to bed at 3AM in FL. Hopefully tonight I'll be back in the saddle. Oregon really has some weird weather.

Any Place With Volcanoes

Post by Kona2 » December 1st, 2008, 3:29 pm

I think any place with volcanoes has weird weather! There are more climate zones in Oregon than in most places....and I think I've biked through most of the ones in Oregon (sometimes all on the same trip). Glad you will be back at the rower....Chris is whooshing by all of us!

It's an absolutely beautiful conjunction!
I highly recommend getting outside to see this one. Look to the southwest just after sunset. You have about 2 hours of viewing after sunset before this beauty sets.

Thanks for the update Kona2 on our journey to the moon. I guess this means I can't give up on my erging just yet. I don't want to be caught floating around in space with no where to go.

Congrats to all you LUNA-tics out there. You are doing a marvelous job already.

Kona2: I was about 300 meters shy of my record, so not even close this time. But still a good row! The day before I didn't have time for an hour row before Sunday services, so I did 10,000 meters and missed a PR by less than 2 seconds. Errr!

With this mornings row, I am now over 2 million meters. I get to celebrate in about an hour by getting crowned by my dentist. With 2 crowns and a root canal in the last 2 months I'm starting to feel like the "king of the dentist chair!". ..... sometimes its tough (and expensive) getting old....

Our much maligned tule fog was already too thick by 2 hours after sunset to see the street lights, let alone Venus and Jupiter ... I'll just have to wait until 2052.

Congrats on your 2 million meters ... and I hope that your dental work went well.

I just showed Tim the smiley you gave him for his 3333, and mentioned what some of you all have been doing with your numbers. Now he is upstairs on the rower doing some more meters to earn another smiley.
