Welcome back Tom! But don't overdo it on the rower. You've been away from it for a while and it may take some time to build up your strength and endurance again for rowing.

Mitch - I hope you can find a rower where it's air conditioned in AZ! I think I would just melt moving to a place that hot when I'm used to 70F's. 80F's are a hot day here.

Glad you guys enjoyed the tall ship video. I'm not sure how many more days the News Tribune will keep it posted. They announced on the news tonight that the crowd the tall ships drew for 4 days was about 125,000; of which 40,000 purchased on board tour passes. So it was the biggest single event draw that's happened for the city - ever. Bigger than Grandma's marathon or the Blues Fest. But it was well advertized across Minnesota and was part of Minnesota's 150th birthday celebration.

I watched the tall ship video again and had to wonder if the ooga chug, ooga chug chant used for raising the sails would work for indoor rowing; maybe for the crash B's?

My daughter downloaded the musical soundtrack onto her IPOD. I borrowed it to row today. Friday's 40 min timed row was 8434; today's was 8839 - and the first time I've broken 2:16/500m for more than 2K.

There's something to good music.

Good news - the new rowing machine arrived today!!
Bad news - one of the pieces is not correct. The pre-placed nuts in the caster wheel bar are on the wrong side. If I put it together the way it is, the wheel casing would be on the ground instead of the padded part being on the ground. Im bummed! Have a call and email into c2. They were closed when the rower arrived.
No big numbers tonight.

I think you have to hear the song to truly "appreciate" it. Our rafting-trial-trip on Sunday included many duck flotilla which started the song-loop. (I know, Darryl, these aren't ducks ... but there were ducks, really ... this was just the best shot from our raft ... AFTER the camera had been submerged!)
