I know you're going to like it. And I don't think you'll have much trouble selling the Model B. Try listing it on Craigslist, as someone who would be looking for a rower can easily google and monitor classifieds for a wide area on these electronic classifieds. (I occasionally find gems in used canoes that way... sometimes barely used.) Darryl

Ok - I just got off the phone with concept2 after ordering my new - I mean our family's new - model d. It will be shipped out on monday and making tis way across country to my back porch. Yippee! Part of the inspiration to purchase did come from the team - so thanks I will sent you all a bill.

I was rowing a little earlier this morning because my bride wanted to take in an art festival in beautiful Bayfield, Wisconsin and that meant being ready to go at 8:30AM sharp for the 2 hour drive over there - me being the driver. .... Also meant getting up at 5:30 AM for me to chug some coffee and get motivated to row for an hour, and still have time to clean up and have breakfast. Anyway the 29,000 meters is yesterday plus this mornings effort. Darryl

Kilometer Markers

FYI, the limited research I have done on the milestone vs kilometer-stone seems to indicate that the markers (which may also be stone or concrete besides the green/white highway signs we see in the US) for the kilometers are called kilometer markers. The standard is a vertical sign for the kilometers vs the horizontal sign for the mile marker. The US, Liberia and Myanmar (Burma) are the ONLY three nations who have not adopted this international standard. Most US states have cities with signage indicating miles per hour speed limit as well as km/hr - and you know that your vehicle speedometer for the US shows the metric conversions as well.

All that said, we're mimicking rowing on the water...and there's a whole different series for nautical miles....or is it nautical kilometers....

thx, Barbara! Are you training for your next marathon now? I was considering the Alcatraz 1.5 mile swim next July but, after reading the warnings (on the entry form, no less) about man-eating sea lions, rogue currents, and heart attacks in the 55 degree Bay water ... maybe I'll just enjoy the virtual shark-infested Australian waters on our way to Beijing.
