Back in my youth, I rowed in an eight during the school year, and a single in the summertime out of Penn A.C. I'm thinking about getting back into a single and out on the water after about 15 years of nothing but indoor rowing. I checked into joining the Potomac Rowing Club, but apparantly there is a 4 year waiting list. Anyone a PRC member on here?
Also, as a substitute, I'm considering renting singles at the Thompson Boat Center downriver from PRC. Anyone row out of that public boat house? What's your opinion of the place and the equipment?
Thanks!
Getting back into a single in DC - help from locals?

You might try posting the question on this "on the water" rowing forum.

If you don't try, you will never know how bad you suck.

Update
I got back out on the Potomac - rowing out of the NPS Thompson Boat House. The Potomac is beautiful, and feels very secluded, but the Schuylkill is a better river for rowing IMO.
