Congrats Dan!
Alas, my erg remained stationary this week. I'm off to NYC/Wash DC for 2 weeks. Don't know if I'll find an erg on my travels or not.
see you on the 14th.

Inspiring numbers, Dan.
That ant about says it all!
Chris
Congratulations Dan!
You, Barb, Chris, and all others are truly energizing!!
Darryl, thanks for your notes from the lessons. I really enjoyed them. I do not know if I'll ever get to row on water, tough...
Today I posted for two days, after a rather long break due to "remnants" of the flu... Glad to be back to rowing and swimming. Today I was in parent swimming relay as well
.
Happy rowing!

Playing the 2009 Luna-Tics movie forward, here are some projections/goals based on current numbers, and maybe a little intuition!
Meter Millionaires:
6 MM - we'll have 3
5 MM - we'll have 2
4 MM - we'll have 2
3 MM - we'll have 7
2 MM - we'll have 10
1 MM - we'll have 11
The meters that just the current 35 row (without even counting additional team members yet to join us or rejoin) will exceed the total meters rowed by our team of 59 last year.

You are The Statistician, Jan! (Or, should I say "Zoltar?!")
Coincidentally, I nailed my lifetime 3 million meters today, and had just emailed my prize request to C2 when I read your post!

Chris - you achieved your 3 MM in less than a year.....and you'll probably hit close to 4 MM by the time your rowing one year anniversary hits!
Congrats!

Thx, Dan, Zoltara.
I think not on the 4MM by one year anniversary ... the much anticipated/dreaded 2-weeks of whitewater rafting and camping pretty much blows my August meters out the water (so to speak). Maybe Dan or Barbara could do it, but not yours truly!
(Hey ... unless I can count the 200 miles on the Colorado River! Not that I know how many meters that might be ... meters are one of life's great mysteries.)

200 miles (statute) is equal to 321,868.80 meters
Wowzer....you will be a changed woman after two weeks of camping and rafting....can't wait to hear the stories!

Anyone have any movie recommendations to watch while rowing?
I did a HM yesterday while watching "A Knight's Tale" ... a fine movie for distraction purposes! I think Kristine said she likes the Hobbit trilogy, and that Dan's maybe mentioned "Where Eagles Dare." What are your faves? (Possibly none in the above image!
)

One of my favorite war-time kinds of movies is "In Harm's Way" - it's somewhat lengthy.
Galaxy Quest is a funny space type movie -- I think our rowing team in space would be somewhat like this!
Apollo 13 is a goodie for space also.
Chariots of Fire is really old - but might be entertaining
For something you may have never heard of: Castle In The Sky...it's an anime type - but very different.
Casino Royale or Tomb Raider ....Invincible.....Babel (also very different)...

I personally go for the Cooking Channel, Discovery, Science Channel, Military Channel, History Channel and MLB (Yanks only; sometime Baltimore since the manager is a patient) I will list the shows on request.
Basically anything that's an hour long.
