Hi PJM,
Thought I would go ahead and post here since I am going to be joining your team. I am so excited about getting my Concept 2, I can hardly wait till Monday. I will be listening for the UPS truck all day. I hope I can put it together without any problems.
For those of you that don't know me, a brief intro.
I am female 64 in a few days and just ordered a Concept 2 model D. I have an ocean kayak that I paddle on the lake in the summer but don't get to go as often as I would like. I am married and my husband has COPD so his health is not good. I have 2 little shih-tzu dogs that I just love and are my best friends other than hubby. I live in the Los Angeles area in the San Fernando Valley. Always been pretty active and used to have horses for many years when I lived in North Carolina. I try to get in as much exercise as possible and have a treadmill and various weights and a step. Saw a post about rowing on another forum and it peaked my interest. Didn't know they made rowing machines like the Concept. I need to do something a little less hard on the joints at my age. PJM invited me to join the team and I am looking forward to logging my first attempts.
PJM, I found it interesting about the dragon boat racing and also the fact that I picked dragonfly for my handle. So I guess this is the team I am meant to join. Hope I can contribute lots of km's.
Now off to the online log and see what I have to do to get started. Monday is sure taking its time getting here.

Welcome! I'm new as well -- just bought my Concept2 couple of months ago and love it. Don't worry about assembly... I was worried about that too, but it's very simple. I did it all by myself, and I'm definitely not the handy type. The hardest part was hauling my machine up the stairs, since I have mine in an upstairs room.
This is a super team to be on, everyone is very encouraging.

We are happy to have you aboard as soon as you begin your rowing adventure on your new erg.You will add alot to our team and we will enjoy rowing with you.

Let us know as soon as your Concept2 arrives and you have put it together.I got mine over 10 years ago and it has been the staple of my home gym.It is absolutely the best exercise I know that works everything and gives you more bang for your buck!!

Thanks Pat and Erika,
Cute puppy picture. I edited my profile and joined the team. I turned my living room rec room into a workout room. I figured I would never use the stuff if I didn't have it out where I can see it and its not like I have a designer house. Figured if people think I am weird so what. I plan on putting the concept right in there with the treadmill. Then I can use it some at night instead of being a couch potato while watching TV. Hope it doesn't make to much noise.

Pat,
Thanks for checking in on me last week. In the past I would row well for a month or two(lose weight) and then basically quit for several months(gain weight). Althought I did slack way off after January(gained weight), I kept telling myself that I would not Peter out this time.
I had to chill alot after the JVC. I had never rowed that much in my life and I was exhausted to the point that I almost got sick. After 'resting ' so much it was hard to get back into the routine. I'm just taking it easy and trying to row 3k per day. Sometimes I make it and sometimes I don't. I make sure that I row some every day so that I don't get out of my rowing routine again.
Anyway, its good to be back. I have missed you all. I enjoy the forum even though I don't post often. This forum wouldn't be much of a forum without you.
Keep up the GREAT work!
Sandi
