Blue Moon Row

Post by Kona2 » May 12th, 2008, 8:51 am

Next Tuesday is the Blue Moon Row - row twice in one day with minimum distance of 5K per row! On the water meters do count for this challenge as well as the Summer Solstice challenge.

This seems like a perfect challenge for the Luna-Tics!

Hear, Hear! The blue moon row is made for us!

Glad to see you posting in the Team Room, Rowin. As you can see if you have been reading, we are all about having fun while gittin 'er done.

Moose- that is a lot of views. Kinda makes me feel like we must be on a National TV Talk Show with millions of unknown viewers watching us chit chat with each other. Why don't some of you "lookers" make a post here. You don't have to be on the team to talk here (although we would love to have you jump aboard!)

AJ - you are a really good artist. I just love the "effect" of that drawing...the curiosity it invokes.

Gina - You go, Girl! You are almost there.

is there a minimum time between rows....since i row at my y, can i row, use another machine and then row again....or do i have to do one in the morning, leave the y and go back in the afternoon....

Barbara - I think the intent is just to have participants do two separate rows. The interval between rowing, working out on another machine, and then rowing again sounds good to me! You just have to have two different logged entries (each has to be a minimum of 5K - no problem for you!).

I've been hearing about the fires in Daytona Beach. I hope Dan is ok.

Gina,

Thanks for the concern. My house is ok, it is about 6 miles from the fires and separated from them by the IntraCoastal Waterway. My office however, is a different matter. So far no threat. But, it is only 2 miles from the fires the only firebreak being I-95. This is nothing compared to last time, so far.

The main problem is unseasonably low humidity (less than 15%), very dry vegetation, high winds (+30 MPH) and no rain in sight.

No hype updates as required. To hear the TV & radio stations here you would think the whole place was burning to the ground as we speak. You want to hear hyperbole, wait until hurricane season. Those people make me nuts.

Pray for he people hit by the tornadoes this week-end. While you're at say a few words for the Chinese and Burmese victims. This like weather gone nuts.

Dan - glad you are ok. Living in LA, I know about low humidity, high fire danger and the hype. Usually low humidity in Florida would be welcome! Hope you stay safe and that they catch the arsonists soon. Meanwhile my erg is calling...

[quote="andreacs"]Hi Lisa,

Just checked and you have 16,276m.

You might have in "cache" the old, 2008 standings.
Those "froze" on April 30.

The link to the 2009 standings is:

Thank you I appreciate this. I am still trying to get over to the gym and work out. It never stops snowing here. Snowed again today and is still a might nippy out. When I ride my bike to work I am near too exhausted to row.

Lisa,

You're showing up on my puter. Welcome back.

THX Dan. I am just dropping in. I hope to be able to come in here at least twice a week but no promises. We have been very busy in the country.

Woohoo! The Cows Are Back!!!

Woohoo! The cows are back!! This is directly behind my house....the dogs always come to a screeching halt when they first see the cows for the season. There are about 90 calves thus far. Development of the property postponed for another season...

First of all belated congratulations to Dan for the 6M milestone!
And welcome Rowin to the Forum and and many meter contributions to the team!
And belated Happy Mother's Day to all LUNA-TICS mothers!

Glad to hear that all OK at Dan in Florida. I have to admit that I did not hear about the Florida fires, probably missed them among other news...
Keeping everybody affected by the latest events in my thoughts and prayers.

My rowing is less these days, but managed to also get in about 1500m of swimming this Sunday :).

Will try to do the Blue Moon row, though I only row late night during the week...

Gina and Jan - go girls!
Darryl - enjoy the fishing trip!

Happy rowing!

Andrea

Good morning all, just finished a morning. Thought you would like the weather report from 9200 ft. Snowing with about five inches on the ground.

Daryl, like you waiting for the ice to clear I am ready for this to stop.

Jan: Wow ... "home home on the range comes to mind!" How much acreage do you have?

Dan: now you've caught that moon, what the heck are you going to do with it? (And where is that taken?) Good luck with the fire situation down your way.

Rowin: thx for the rez warning at Chez P. As it turned out yesterday, the flight we were meeting got a tail wind across the Atlantic and was an hour early, so we blasted straight thru Berkeley, trying to beat the plane. (Mission accomplished ... all's well on the Western Front! :D )

WTG on the 100K, people. And, looking forward to celebrating the new 1 millionaires!

Chris (new official owner of the resident Concept 2 rower ... no duel required!)
