Around the World Row!
We are on the African portion of our coastal row now.
We have just made it past the legendary city of Casablanca
Of all the cities, in all the world, our boat had to row past this one.
Keep on rowin', eh.

Cool!
Thanks for the updates Jim. The Eh! Team rocks, or should I say rows! I haven't been pulling my weight, but hope to get more metres in this week.
Stay inspired!
Michelle
P.S. There has been an insurance snag with the Indoor Row for MS. I'm hoping to hear good news this week or the event will not proceed. Fingers crossed.

Do we have a consensus on 5K unrestricted for next month's CTC?
It seems we only have 7 to 10 participants which is disappointing compared to what we used to manage. We have lots of people logging lots of metres just not in the CTC.
Good luck with your venture Michelle.

5k unrestricted sounds good to me. I really must make more of an effort to get a time up for the CTC. It is kind of fun. I will try and post a time over the next few days.
In the interim our Eh!Team boat is starting its slow progress around Africa.
We are presently passing the Canary Islands but there will no time for rest and relaxation for you hosers, because you have to
Keep on rowin', eh.

Dave:
5000 unresticted is good. It's probably too far for the rest of my crew, but I will do it. (Kiersten will do a 2500 for this month's CTC if filling the woman's seat will float boat number 2, but probaby not otherwise.)
Jim:
Great beach picture. Could have used it last weekend in cold, snowy Vancouver.

EVENT CANNOT PROCEED
Unfortunately due to inability to obtain 3rd party insurance, the Indoor Row for MS event cannot proceed. No pledges or donations were received or accepted and the hope is that maybe next year the 'MS Society' will actually sponsor the event themselves enabling their insurance to cover it. Thanks for all the support.

Sorry to hear about that Michelle. It sounds like it would have been a very worthwhile event. What kind of run around were the insurance folks giving you about hosting an erg fundraiser?Unfortunately due to inability to obtain 3rd party insurance, the Indoor Row for MS event cannot proceed.

RE: Indoor Row for MS - insurance snag
Well, both the City and Festival insurance companies said they couldn't cover it because it's considered a third party event.
The MS Society insurance couldn't cover it because it's considered a third party event.
The local rowing club insurance couldn't cover it because 'Joe Public' would be using the erg.
I honestly don't know how any fundraising events take place if it is such a hassle to insure them.
The hope is that the MS Society will make it their own event next year and therefore not considered third party, so their insurance could cover it.
Here I thought getting someone to loan the erg was going to be my biggest problem. lol Ah, well, bureaucracy wins this one.
Stay inspired!

Great season hosers.
Our meters are 65,731,935 for the year. The discrepancy between this and the C2 log (75,000,000) is that our meters only count when you have signed up for the Eh!team. Forget the details, it's a lot of meters and it was great. Well done.
We just went rowing past the country called The Gambia. It is the smallest country in Africa.
Keep on rowin, eh.

Well done John on getting into the boat before me! We can always count on you being there first.
A new PB for me (17:17.7) in the 5K today too. Wasn't expecting it so it feels even better.
Lets get at least 3 boats in the water this month, eh?
Good luck for the 2009 season!

Eh! Team I
Hey Dave:
Because I row 15K every day, I usually work in the monthly challenge on the first day.
This is my only way to be in Eh! Team I for at least a few days. Once more poeple row,
I inevitably get bumped to Eh! Team II or beyond!
Congrats on your personal best for the 5K and good luck with all your goals for the coming year.

JC ... Rowing for Life!
Hey, Dave (aka Tinpusher):
Have you noticed we're neck-and-neck in the Nonathon?
I put up two more times today, a 500 (missed my 2003 PB by 0.2 sec) and a 1000 (a PB). Now that I'm 52, the Nonathon points are startling.
Any other Eh! Teamers doing the Nonathon?
Mike (aka miker)

Don't know if my ladies will do this month's CTC. Maybe.
But Kiersten is only 11 and 5000 m might be just too far.
Anna actually did last month's 2500 m CTC with a broken arm (hairline fracture) and three cracked ribs. Though she didn't know it at the time.
Now she does, and she's taking it easy.
Of course I'm not trying to shame any other Eh! Team ladies . . .

I bet she is! She must have been in pain without rowing. What an effort!Anna actually did last month's 2500 m CTC with a broken arm (hairline fracture) and three cracked ribs. Though she didn't know it at the time.

I'm sure Bri or one of the others will be along to "float our boat"!
