Critique me for my success

I am new to rowing. I have done a lot of quick fix ways to get thin, and as expected have failed. I started a new job which has a small gym including an elliptical, a treadmill, a climber thing, a bike, free weights and a rower. I had used a rower before, and being that I have sciatica issues, I thought this is what I need to help with my core. So I sat down to it and away I went. I did like 2k in 10.5 my second day. So I started doing at least 25 minutes worth or 5k, and if I get really sore in the buttock, I get up and do a set of biceps, triceps, shoulder press, and chess press, and then do another five minutes, then another set of arms and then another.
Today it was 15minutes, or around 3k, and then arms, then another 1k in fewer than 6 minutes, then more arms, then another 1k under 6 minutes, then arms, then I do a mile or so to cool down on the bike.
I weigh 170 and would like to get down to ATLEAST 140, maybe by Dec. 4th. (I turn thirty, and I get braces off and would like to check some things off my 30 bucket list)
