Newbie with Model A - weight loss program

Post by aki1071 » September 18th, 2007, 7:36 am

After looking around for a used Concept2, I found a mint condition Model A. Even though it is old technology it works quite well and is still one heck of a workout. I seem to sweat just as much as I do using the Model D we have at the Base gym.

I am using the Model A as part of a fitness (for competitive dinghy sailing) and weightloss program. Does anyone have any suitable workout plans for an old model A that still only has a speedo/odo?

Thanks
-K

Sure, the pacing will depend a bit on the pick-up type on your machine.

If you can see exposed plastic gears across from the cogs, 1.2 miles = 500m (PM2 and later), if the pickup is more of a sealed disc shaped model, each mile = 500m so all training programs can be translated relatively easily.

Using one of the middle sprockets will put you in the Drag range (feeling anyway) of the current machines.

Most of all, have fun and work as hard as you like.
