New member say hi & looking company to encourage each other

Hi there,
I've got a C2 rower during COVID and used it very infrequently. But I think it's time to get back to it as I really want to drop some weight and get back to shape.. So I'm on it every day for last couple of week and hope to stick with it for a long time. Wondering if there is "following" in the C2 app so if anyone just begin we could encourage each other virtually.
Also I noticed that lot of posts marked as locked, could someone explain why?
Anyway, I'm 55, almost 6' (182 cm) and levitate about 210 lbs. Ideally would love to go back to below 190.
Cheers

Welcome to the forum!
It's a great place for any questions you might have, moral support and motivation.
You can add training buddy's in the app I believe but not sure how that works. There is also a "real time" tab where you can row with other people live which you might like, but again I've not used it.
If you are looking for a structured plan you could try the beginners Pete plan that a few of us do and post about on the training forum. Or if you just want to do your own thing there's also a thread where you can post your daily workouts and get feedback if you want, or just treat it as a diary.

Welcome to the forum. There isn't a way of setting up a following per se, other than checking on posts on here as regularly as you like.
I'd also agree with Nomark, and suggest that the BPP is a great way to start something structured with a friendly group who will be at, more or less, a similar stage to you.

Well done at taking the first step. The C2 is a great low impact machine to exercise on.
Usual caveat that few lose weight purely from rowing as most people are more than capable of increasing intake to cover their exercise use! BUt it has many other benefits and will keep your metabolism up when restricting intake.
Re locked posts, they were either covered elsewhere (duplicates so confusing)or breached the rules (eg talking about non-C2 machines etc. or lack of etiquette / conversation going nowhere).
I had a few training partners for a while. In the log you can ask anyone to be their partner and there is dedicated messaging as well as increased access to each other's log book if you don't want to give this to the world.

Thank you everyone for welcomes and plan suggestion. Gotta do some readings!
Happy to report my old chest HR monitor I used for cycling successfully paired with C2. Updated ErgData app is up and running. First 50k in the books!

Welcome. You could consider joining a team. The team I am on, Luna-Tics, is very active, and I've found that to be quite helpful in my motivations.
