adding flaps on a model A

Post by hollydollydoo » April 24th, 2022, 4:41 pm

I bought a used Model A where two of the wind flaps on the flywheel are missing. Bought replacements from Concept, and now I'm having a hard time figuring out how to get the notch in the flap over the wheel frame without cracking it. Thoughts? Thanks.

Since there aren't a lot of A's around I think your best bet is to give C2 Customer Service a call and see what they say. I've spoken to them a few time regarding my Model C and my Dyno and they've been quite helpful.

So this is a retirement video that my co-workers put together for me which shows fan blades being put on a Model A flywheel at about 2:04 into it. No apologies for the music....... :D :D

Does C2 keep records for fan blade installs/sec ? 4 blades in 7 seconds.

Thanks for sharing, Jon! Hard to compress a full career into a short video, but it looked like an awesome tribute. And also an interesting peek into some of the history and magic behind what we're using today :D .

Thanks Dave- I was very fortunate to have gotten involved with C2 when I did. Great company, great people and a lot of fun along the way.....Jon

Love the simplicity of the concept, whilst the engineering of todays versions may be more complex, the best ideas often spring from simple ideas.
